Well i made my decision and went with a SF g2x tactical in a vltor offset qd mount. Here's my question,will the blast from a griffin comp bothe the light if its mounted to were it rides about halfway up the length of the comp.  It's a 16" carbine with a 15" mi  ssg2 with the mount located at the farthest forward position

You should be fine.
