Nice. I have the LD12 125 lumens on 1 AA.

This new light must be really small.

The LD 02 is available as of this morning at REI.

Received my LD02 today. I like it, except that it starts in mid first, then low, then high. For a survival light, I like low first to preserve night vision. Appears to be a well machined device. High runs for 3 minute bursts, so really is a burst mode not a real high. 76mm long.

Also the push button sticks out too far to tail stand, if that matters.

Well I read the original post in that thread, product looks pretty quality.  I could not decipher what the differences in models were etc.  Could you elaborate as I am really interested in something of that size and output.  I could not even tell what battery source it is using(I'm assuming AAA because of the title of this thread but it looks like it could be a different one too).  I will reread it a couple times but any pointers would be great.

that's a 123 light.  no reason to have posted it.
the maratac is cool, but no tail switch, no want.  Why does anyone even make anything but a clicky tail cap switch anymore?

I like the idea of a 1xAAA light because it can fit in the pocket and can augment a pocket carry pistol, for summer-time recreational operations.

Agree.  I have the LD 01.  The 02 must be tiny as hell.

I have three of the PD20 lights.  They are my go-to work lights, since work pays for the CR123 batts.

Good tip on the E-12.  I put one on my Amazon wish list for my next drunk shopping adventure.

Different people have different needs. I keep mine on my keychain attached by the pocket clip. I like it because it stays on the keychain but is easily removable if I need just the light. If I had a small tailcap switch it would be very easily activated in my pocket and drain the battery.

sounds good, but try carrying pocket clip like a folding knife, you will find it works out great with an 1xAAA like a streamlight.
I carry a keltec .32 and would love to be able to have a true 80+ lumen "tactical" level light to augment it at pocket clip carry, in something thin like the streamlight.

I have used pocket clips and I can't trust them for small lights. Like I said different stuff works for different people. I've found just having the light on my key ring works great. It's just a utility light for me.

Hmm.... Did not know that! I was ordering other stuff from countycomm anyways and I had been looking at the light so I guess shipping didn't matter that much for me. I'm not sure if the ITP comes with a glow in the dark diffuser but I like that about the maratac. It's really great for reading in the dark.

I got my E05SS in today. Much shorter than the new LD02, even shorter than the E01.  The aluminum E05 3 level will be out in a few weeks. The SS model is much heavier.

The 85 lumens is for one hour, but at 3 minutes at a time due to temperature safeguards. The 25 lumens is for almost 5 hours. That's a good useable micro light.
