Duffy,
Do you have a part number for the Docter Optic mount?  I just have a ta31 and got the red dot seperate and the front of the red dot hits the cap for the scope adjustment knob.  I noticed yours has a slight "ledge" on the back of the mount whereas mine doesn't which might be part of my problem.  In order to the ring to mount in the ring of the eyepiece, my bracket for the red dot is going to have to be offset towards the back a little bit like yours.  Any help would be great!

Here's another IOR photo.  Water tower is 590 yards from my living room.  Looks like the rungs on the ladder are right around 11".

Bushnell Trophy 1-4x24

The first two are at 1x and 4x with the illumination OFF.  The second two are with the illumination ON.

And just so everyone knows, the scope is NOT mounted on a gun at the moment.  So don't jump down my throat because two of the shots were across the field at the neighbors house.:beerchug:

The scope is laying on the porch railing and it is obviously tilted a little to the right.  This is what causes the crosshairs to look distorted.

I used my Canon Powershot SD1000 mounted on a tripod for the pictures.

1x w/o illuminated dot:

4x w/o illuminated dot:

1x with illuminated dot:

4x with illuminated dot:

Again, the scope WAS NOT mounted on a weapon.  So it's basically just a big monocular right now.

How far is it to your neighbors house?

Somewhere between 250-300 yards I'm guessing?  It's hard to judge because my house is up on a hill and so is the neighbors.

Here's a better picture to judge by:

Sorry I just saw this
I have a TA01NSN, TA31DOC and TA31F.  The TA01NSN, TA01DOC, TA31DOC, TA31ECOS and TA01ECOS have the mounting anchors built-in, they're much easier to mount a JPoint type or Docter on than an ACOG without the two mounting points.  I'm no big fan of the mount for ACOGs without the mounting points, it's not easy to install, and it needs to be almost flush with the eye piece.  It doesn't look very robust either, I haven't dropped my TA31F with the red dot mounted on it yet, but the outcome will not be a happy one I think.

I thought I'd post some pictures of Aimpoint dot sizes  from a previous post that I started.

2 MOA at 25 yards (C3)

4 MOA at 25 yards(ML3)

4 MOA at 25 yards (H1)

2 MOA at 50 yards

4 MOA at 50 yards

Maybe these pictures will give someone guidance for what they think they may need out of an Aimpoint.

the bolt+BCG was actually removed in this photo which i now realize still isn't good practice considering firearms safety rules, that was me in the photo and i never plan on doing such a thing again.
i apologize for attempting to be creative and only making myself look like an idiot. Good photos guys and happy shooting.

Oh well, never hurts to ask.

That is actually the EXACT configuration I'm planning for my next build 16" medcon middy gas, DD Lite 12.0, LaRue SPR, Troy BUIS, Harris BP, MagPul UBR and MIAD... I've yet to decide on the glass though. waht made you decide on the Burris over others? The reticle sure has my interest.

It's a great configuration, balances VERY well.  The Burris is an excellent scope.  I bought it to try it out.  Since then I've made the decision to go back to using ACOGs exclusively as that's what I'm practiced with.  I just sold the Burris.  That said, for a true 1-4 variable, it's a very good option and IMHO is a player among all the other great low power variable options out there.  I posted a review of it in the Optics forum.

Anyone have a picture of a Trijicon Accupoint?

More specifically the TR20-G  (Post reticle with Green Triangle) or the TR20-2G (Mildot Crosshair with Green dot)

I have scoured the net, but can't seem to come up with anything.

I'd also like to see some greet reticles, particularly out of an acog (chevron, but I'd settle for a horseshoe or donut at this point!)
