Here's a couple of pics that I took looking through my EOTech 512.A65.  Just to add to the cause.  I'm finding it more difficlut with a digital camera to get everything into focus.  The old SLR was much easier.

This is the Horus Talon 1-4X24 at 1x

and at 4x

I think the first focal plane reticle helps in giving a strong circle at 1x for speed. And the 4x grids (when one get more familiar with) is fast for longer range also. The x'mas tree grids are 1 mil major and 1/2 mil minor. The horizontal tics are for speed at 4mph increment. The circles are more thicker and visible than Leupold and the grids are much more useful than the NsX FC-2 at 4x.

After reading another thread I bought a Tapco/Leapers t-168... What a peice of shit!!  I would post pics but honestly it is not worth the effort nor the embearassment of such a stupid purchase.
1.Very blurry/ no effective way to focus
2.The inside of the scope is loaded with dust/debris.
I realize you get what you pay for but this goes too far.
I need  a TA31 anybody want to trade...Even up?

Hey All,

Here's a rather odd attempt to show what an Aimpoint looks like with both eyes open...

(Don't know who he is, but he means business!)

Just thought it might help people understand that most pics show a one-eyed view?

NY Pat. That's an awesome photo by itself, take that picture again when the weather is similiar but put the rifle in front of you so we can see the range and with a few rounds on the ground. That my friend has wallpaper potential for sure!!

Even though I have had both the TA31 and the TA11, and knew that the FOV was wider in the TA31, I doubt I had ever looked through both to compare. The picture does a great job of illustrating just how much more of the target area you see through the TA31!

Here's a picture through an OLD compact ACOG with a donut reticle. They dont even make thios model anymore. It was unmarked so I cant say what the model number was but it seemed to be a 3x to me!

TA11C (.308 reticle).

BTW, does anything think the .308 reticle is best for 69-77 grain 5.56mm ammo? I suspect it is.

For a 16" barrel, perhaps:

"For a Flattop 16" firing 75gr OTM @2615fps
Sight in at 100 per manual. This is a real close match. Max deviation is 2" at 600m and you'll be within 1" at all other ranges."

Duffy,

The TA01NSN illuminates the reticle amber during low light conditions, correct?  If so, can you get a picture of that...I'm sure it looks sweet lit up!

I had one, good optics but the reticule illumination was not impressive when used at night.

You can take your 2 cents "assumptions" and shove them up your PC ass.   This is a great thread, with no exceptions (until your post).  Get your facts straight before you open your whiny noob mouth.

Super thread!

Been looking for a thread like this for a long time. This is how companies should market their optics. Show what they look like on weapons pointed at targets, buildings, people at different ranges, trucks, and anything else you think the weapon woul be fired at. Not a black and white(with or without red and amber) drawing.

Can someone take a picture of Michael Jackson thru ANY sight?

Please, its a joke, don't show the muzzle flash.

Again, its a joke.

Funny ha ha.

Joke.

Highway one will do, OK, go to Santa Barbara..

I dare you.

so you're on "the other team"?

Not that it's any of your business if I decide to shoot my dog or not, but I didn't even have an assembled lower for the upper when I took that pic.

On a topic that is actually related to this thread, there's a tip for some folks trying to take these sorts of pics: remove the upper.  I found the detached upper much easier to rest on a table than the assmebled rifle, and it allowed me to stack shims under the camera to get it to the height I wanted.

I've been considering the tripower/magnifier route as well.  But I just got an M3 and now I'm over the tripower.  The new reticle is NOTICABLY sharper than M2 or ML2.  Simply amazing how far they've taken optics.
