Something about the window really turns me on.
I'm guessing the regular PMAGs in all the different colors is 1st priority and then come the window variation.  Just a guess, anybody know?

I can't wait for the window version either.
I figure I'll get a couple just for the novelty of it, and of course, a few of the smoked ones.

I just hope the window doesn't affect their durability.

Figured I should put some of my gun money toward mags, total mag budget is about $300 for now

I heard from my main man Mike at Spike's Tactical that the Maglevel PMags won't be made; it seems that the window might come loose and the clear plastic "window" might jam the mags up. How true is this, I do not know; think it't be better to consult Magpul for that.

ITMT, I coughed up $40 and got me two of the regular PMags in black. Damn, these things look awesome.

Later.

As of last week Magpul was getting ready to ship the Levelmags to dealers, so I doubt that they decided not to make them.

Serious question.  Could someone be so kind as to explain the purpose of the window?  Is it to indicate an approximate amount of rounds remaining, since it obviously doesn't go all the way to the top?  How does the orange indicator play into this?  TIA

Haven't handled one but from watching Magpul's demo video of the old style the painted coil on the spring is at the top of the window when the mag is empty.

So:

Window mostly full of brass - completely full
Brass gone - half full
Orange mark visible - quarter full
Orange mark at the top - empty

Wow, that last post was better than a soprano's ending...

ETA:  And I wouldn't even call that "smoke", that sucker's clear.

Nice.

ETA: Stickman, is that the clear or smoke PMAG? It looks like just plain clear to me.
If it is the smoke, disregard the 1st sentence below.

That is very cool, but I would prefer the smoke. I would order 1 plain clear for
novelty, but would order at least 10 of the smoked clear. I know the clear mags
are harder to make resistant to oils and chemicals as compared to the original
PMAG.

Thanks for the pic.

21 rds is where I see the rounds in the windowed versions -- a pretty good spot -- since thats when I would want to ensure I tac load if possible.

I found the TAN/Coyote whatever color it is mags to load a lot easier than the black -- no idea why -- the follower just seems to slide a lot easier -- that said I am still awaiting Tan window mags.

I have now retired all my USGI mags w/ Ranger plates (cough - Rich, PMag Ranger plate...) and Enhanced followers) - well they are still loaded in my room in case we get besieged.

Something like this?

Also heads up that we are doing a free upgrade to 07/07 mag bodies for everyone at no cost on our web site starting this weekend. No new design just better quaility control and production specs. These will fix those harder to load mags Kevin.

Where can I pick up some of the original design?

Many of my USGI  mags are becoming un-reliable and I'd love to upgrade (even), to the original ones - w/o the window.

Thanks.

PS: None of my local stores have them. How many millions of $$'s are they, anyway?

You can get them in the EE, the non-window ones cost about 14-15 bucks
