I can't wait for the window version either.
I figure I'll get a couple just for the novelty of it, and of course, a few of the smoked ones. |
I was going to hold out for the windowed ones, but broke down and got some normal nes on Thursday
Saved enough money at the pizza buffet to afford some mags Tax?
Figured I should put some of my gun money toward mags, total mag budget is about $300 for now |
Highly doubt this story. My original MagLevel magazines from Magpul (aluminum w/window) have held up great for thousands of rounds. The all polymer windowed magazine design will be even more robust. They'll be out, just have patience. |
As of last week Magpul was getting ready to ship the Levelmags to dealers, so I doubt that they decided not to make them.
So if your information is correct, then these should start showing up at dealers sometime this week!! Calling 7KOPPER! Can you confirm? |

HA!
These are hitting the market and are selling out faster than cheap ammo. Guess the masses are like me. -In the closet WINDOW LOVERS. |
Wouldn't that be "CLOSETED WIDOW-LOVING types" ? |
Serious question. Could someone be so kind as to explain the purpose of the window? Is it to indicate an approximate amount of rounds remaining, since it obviously doesn't go all the way to the top? How does the orange indicator play into this? TIA
I don't know why this was ever said, FALSE? We are making the windowed PMAG, just catching up on non windowed orders. The windowed is just as durable as the non window.

Haven't handled one but from watching Magpul's demo video of the old style the painted coil on the spring is at the top of the window when the mag is empty. So: Window mostly full of brass - completely full Brass gone - half full Orange mark visible - quarter full Orange mark at the top - empty |

Thank you Scott. |

Wow, that last post was better than a soprano's ending...
ETA: And I wouldn't even call that "smoke", that sucker's clear. Nice. ETAA: I've just got to say it...that's fucking bad. Ass. |
ETA: Stickman, is that the clear or smoke PMAG? It looks like just plain clear to me.
If it is the smoke, disregard the 1st sentence below. That is very cool, but I would prefer the smoke. I would order 1 plain clear for novelty, but would order at least 10 of the smoked clear. I know the clear mags are harder to make resistant to oils and chemicals as compared to the original PMAG. Thanks for the pic. |
Depending on the angle, it can look very clear, or it can look pretty smokey. I know thats not much of a solid answer, but I'll start a new thread, and post some more pictures to show what I mean.
who needs a window? I'd rather have one of those Waiting for windows before I buy more pmags though. |
Hells yeah!! I wanted windowed Pmags too but as soon as i heard about the smoke colored mags i changed my mind. I WANT MY SMOKEY PMAGS!!! |
+1 on the ranger plate for the pmag... and if you can, none of that 29 round only BS... i know you can do it. btw, anyone know where anyone has windowed pmags, none of the sponsors here seem to have them listed yet??? thanks
Something like this? Also heads up that we are doing a free upgrade to 07/07 mag bodies for everyone at no cost on our web site starting this weekend. No new design just better quaility control and production specs. These will fix those harder to load mags Kevin. |
The window mags are much harder to make than the solid color mags and as such with production issues we fell behind on building these. Bad news is it looks like a few more months till we can run more. Good news is the Smoke TPD-PMags should be out in 2-3 weeks. |
nice design. |

Rich -- thanks for the update --- I for one cannot wait for the PMag Ranger plate.
The loading issue -- seems to clear up after the've been shot and reloaded once or twice. Plus I cannot have mags shipped to you from Iraq (and back) for upgrade. P.S. The "broken" one I ran over with the B6 Suburban is still working fine as a range mag (the 3/4" crack on the spine does not seem to affect function at all if you can beleive it --- I'm not that confident to run it on the road though...) |
Send me your address over there and I will find a way to get you the bodies. |
Damn! Now I can't wait to get ahold of a few 20 rounders. They look slick.
word. They have that nice Colt slant to them. Very slick indeed. Exciting time for AR enthusiasts. |
Where can I pick up some of the original design?
Many of my USGI mags are becoming un-reliable and I'd love to upgrade (even), to the original ones - w/o the window. Thanks. PS: None of my local stores have them. How many millions of $$'s are they, anyway? |
You can get them in the EE, the non-window ones cost about 14-15 bucks |
Got my 07-07 replacement mags with no problems! Outstanding customer service!
