Got my 10 Mag order today with the free ss mag. I made a mistake!!! I should have ordered all my mags with Black Mar-Lube finish.

I also think you might be making a mistake too. I personally think you need to make the Black Mar-Lube the standard finish and the moly finish an option. This stuff is great.

Anyone else agree?

BTW the mags looks great. Welds are great!

You can get em here. C Products

Milspec finish should be standard. All other finishes should be options.

Then buy it.

From what I can tell... the Mar-lube is a very nice finish.  Only time will tell how well it will hold up.  I plan on torturing mine.

When I order more mags they will all have mar-lube finish.  I am also going to give my free stainless steel mar-lube mag hell. I have already tried to scratch it up.

Its black. Quoted:
The standard coating on our aluminum mags is the mil spec gray dry moly coat. We took the same coating added teflon and other proprietary additives and now have a Mar-Lube coating. It offers the same protection, it impregnates the material, and the lubricity. But unlike the gray it is much more durable, it does not mark as badly as the gray and is a matte black color. It is the standard coating on our stainless steel line of magazines. Some of the guys have gotten their stainless mags as well as aluminum mar-lube and they should be posting their observations of the new coating. Hope this helps.

This is a black mar-lube mag.

This is a moly mag.

My avatar is one of the pennys that my Dad and I have shot at. We were zeroing in a scope. I have shot at a few with a different rifle since then. Distances were between 75 & 100 yards. Same result. This is what sold me on an AR-15. Just amazes me that the pennys never move and there is never alot of pushed metal. I polished that particular one and used it for my avatar because it pretty much took Abes head off. ETA: This was all done with range/practice ammo.

Disclaimer: I have nothing against Honest Abe!!!

Please educate me on the other uses pennys have? Oh I almost forgot they are money.

There anything useful you can do with em?

8 or 10 as targets are a good use, other then puttin em in a jar and saving forever to make a buck.

Besides the color and doesn't scratch up as bad, is there any performance, or longevity advantages to having the Mar-Lube finish?

The continued existence of pennies ought to be a federal crime.

I've carried a penny with a .30 hole I put in it since high school on my key chain.  It is a great reminder.  The older pure copper pennies seem to work better as the newer copper plated zinc pennies are more brittle and tend to shatter.
