I see them and they look great! Can't wait to get my hands on a few!
I'm lost. Can someone explain what these are for and why one would prefer them over the stock plates? I get the whole magpull thing - it has a loop you can pull on. But what the hell is this all about?
For folks that don't like to or don't need to use the pulls or ranger plates. It offers protection to the mag when you hit the mag release and let it drop free and hit the ground. |
they look great and I'm lookin forward to getting a few
are they going to be marketed as Lumpy Plates/L-Plates? |
Should have called them Magpul L196 plates, and had that imprinted on the plates themselves.
gotcha. so its like a rubber baby buggy bumper for ar mags! |

I acn't wait 'till MagPul starts making their own mags...in 6.8!
Dang straight! Then we can have rifles AND mags with no rounds to put in them! |

Hmmmmm?
I'd be into some. your drawing board must be an interesting sight. |
When you speed reload are they definitely gonna hit the ground first |
I'm definitely buying a pack of da' lumps! Thanks L196 and Magpul for bring us the next big thing...
what is the purpose of these things?
not flaming, just don't know |
Some people don't like the standard floor plates. Some people don't like dents and dings when mags hit the ground. Some people don't like the ranger plates. So in comes lumpy, soft floor plate to cushion the mag when it hits the ground, lessens dents and dings. Also, it has holes to put rip cord or zip ties to make a poor mans mag pull if you still want the feature without the ranger plate design. It's all about the choices. headbang.gif |

For those without a use for Range Plates, or for those with webgear that wont allow them: Ease of disassembly for cleaning. Protection for the base of the magazine. |

Pardon my ignorance...somebody said these are a "soft" plate. Are these rubber? Or are they hard plastic?
I think I need one on every mag I've got. Uh oh. |
Good question! |

"Plate is stainless steel and over molded with pliable rubber/plastic as used in the Magpuls." |
Sweet - Glad to see them come to fruition.
I am goign to get a few for service rifle (up here we can rest our mag - and the Ranger Plate is okay but not perfect for that.) Cheers |
