Thanks.
went with the jp silent capture spring and jp bolt.

That rail was a pain in the ass to find. I looked everywhere, then one day I posted in the looking to buy forum of the EE. A member emailed me like ten minutes later.. said he had one new no box for 100$!!

I jumped all over it.

Newb here adding some gun porn. The below rifle is a Form 1 CMMG dedicated lower, LWRC Ultra Compact stock. It is not quite finished as I am waiting on a Tros 5 inch tri lug barrel and need to buy a UCIW 9mm buffer from heavybuffer. The rail is a Samson star 4. I will be running a Ti rant 45 with a JB Tactical tri lug mount.

The Ti Rant is on the left with the JB mount. The AAC tri lug will not go under my rail so i have to stick with the silencerco mount and thread adapter.

If this is as much fun as my SBR uzi, this thing will be a blast.

Got mine finished. Tactical Ambush 10.5" Barrel and NiB Bolt, UTG Slim Pro 9" HG, Delware Ind. Lower, New Frontier slick side billet upper, RRA 9mm buffer and spring, Spikes mag block, Spikes buffer spacer, & Ebay FH

Had to tweak the mag lips on the ACS mags. The right side of the mag lips were too tall and the rim extended too far into the mag body for my setup. After filing them down, they all worked great. Looking at the Metalform mags, I don't think they would have that issue on this build.  Ran a bunch of rounds through it today and all I can say is WOW! What a fun gun. Picked up a See All sight and it works great for this gun. I had used one in the past on a shotgun and liked the idea, and for this gun it was a great fit. I could do without the banner on the side, but it's a small issue. Very tame recoil, accurate, light, fun, and it's a pistol. BTW - the Sig brace was very comfortable on my arm ;)

Version 2

I'm waiting on my flash can to arrive and I'm contemplating purchasing a 5.5" rail. I'll post pics when done.

Yes I know the safety is off and there is a mag in But there is no ammo in the mag or chamber.

I haven't posted pix of my build in a quite a while, so some of these might be duplicates.

This is my 9mm SBR build.  It's based on a Glock-compatible DDLES lower and uses a VLTOR MUR upper.  The rail is by Troy (love them squid grips!)   The stock is a mission first "minimalist" stock.

The barrel started life as a 10" barrel, but was custom shortened so that the AAC suppressor would be just millimeters away from the handguard.

I have a 100-round Beta drum.  It's ridiculous and it's heavy - but it scares the hippies and makes the MILF's at Moms Demand Action cry and that makes me happy.

It's an original Beta Company magazine.  It runs just fine.  It's just heavy and unwieldy.  It's far more for show than anything

Odin Works 5.5 KeyMod. Picture is with a 5" barrel and a 3-lug adapter and with 3-lug flash hider and cans.

I tried a DD Lite 4.0 and a Samson Star 4, but because of the 5" barrel I didn't really save on OAL and I like the extra space with the 5.5" rail.

Gotcha. I thought that was the Odin Works. I was looking at that as well for mine but ended up going with a 4" keymod rail. I have a 5.25" barrel on mine. I also got a 7" keymod rail that uses the same barrel nut so I can swap them out if I wanted. That 5.5" looks good though.

Questions for you, Mr. Loud, on your Form-1 did you have to specify .4 Cal?  I assume you will run multiple caliber uppers with that lower, no?  What caliber did you end up engraving on your lower?  I'm thinking about running a different caliber upper on my 9mm SBR, but my lower is registered for 9mm, and engraved 9x19 mm.  Not sure the NFA legalities are here.

Haha. Please, call me Go.

My understanding is that as long as you engrave the caliber as shown on your approved form 1, you can change callibers as many times as you wish after you build the initial approved configuration.

OK, Go, thanks.  I might be crazy here, but I have a QC10 CLT9MM lower, bulit out as a 9mm SBR.  I was looking at the hype of the Amscor .22 TCM 9R cartridge and I'm intrigued.  Was thinking about building an upper with a .22 cal barrel to accommodate that round.  Looks like muzzle energy is similar to a hot 9mm round, so I expect that the buffer and spring I use now will be fine. Might need a new BCG because I think the case of the round is a .38 Super necked down.   Since my lower is a dedicated 9mm, this would allow me to reuse a lot, and be able to send a 40 grain bullet down range at 2000 fps (if you believe the hype).  I just didn't know if this was legal for me to do based on NFA rules.

Or maybe I just build a standard .223 rifle.  Probably would end up being cheaper going that route.  I dunno... I'm always up for a challenge, except my wallet is not

I got my Mas Defense keypad rails installed.

Here's with the 4"

Here's with the 7"

I thinking that I'm liking the 4" more because it gives it more of an SMG look. I also added a RRA buffer and cut down one of their stock spacers and added a .4" spacer in the buffer tube behind the spring.

As far as the MAS Defense rails, I'll say that they're "ok" but I probably wouldn't run one on a full size rifle. It seems like the steel they use for the barrel nut is a bit softer than I'd like, and the flats are not large enough to get the correct size crescent wrench on em. I was able to tighten it to 40ft/lbs using the castle nut wrench on my AR tool (which indexed the screw holes perfectly). The screws are EASY to strip so hand tightening is about as good as it gets. But for the price I say it's acceptable.

I've got some MI keymod rail covers on the way, other than that I'll probably just add some HK sights and be done.

I was looking into this very subject just the other week. I have a QC10 GSF lower as well and after seeing the 22tcm glock conversions debuted at shot show I figured that the next logical step would be an upper for my QC10 sbr. From what I understand the cartridge is not saami spec and the only reamer available so far is proprietary and not sold to the public. I can't wait for that to change because the round could truly find it's place in my arsenal as a true 5.7 replacement once short threaded barrels are available for AR's.

I have  2 of the  RIA 22 TCM's and  2000 fps out  of a 5" barrel is  real. They feed from a 9mm mag in the pistols but what do on the bolt  and  chamber will take  some machine work  I expect. It would be  a interesting  project but  don't expect  off the shelf parts.
The brass can be  made  from .223. Probably need a custom chamber barrel and bolt..

We should probably take this to a separate thread, but I agree with you on custom bolt, chamber and barrel.  Doing some research, but not seriously until the 9R round becomes available.  Maybe ADCO could fabricate something (except I have empty wallet ). I want to re-use my QC10 9mm Colt Lower and Metalform mags.  Good to know you get 2000 out of 5".

They fit without issue. One may be out of spec. If you have another AR I would see how the upper and lower fit with those. If ones out of spec contact the conpany and hopefully they'll help u out.

MAS D. Has terrible customer service. They don't do refunds, on credit minus 30 percent or something like that. They also require you to pay shipping both ways, and won't give credit until after they receive and inspect it. I had issues with my rail I got from them and they told me I was wrong and if there was an issue all I had to do was file it down myself....

Never buying from again. Also, I posted negative reviews on their products and they removed the reviews from the site over and over. 10/10 would avoid again.

Finally picked up the Mystic X today along with some other goodies. Going to try out the KAC NVG high mount for the R1. I find that these small PDW weapons force me to get real low and hunched up for a nice sight picture. Having a higher mount gives a more comfortable "heads up" position. I've added a comparison picture with a LT 660. I'm looking forward to running it hard this weekend (and get some better pictures)!
