Nice looking rifle, and has most of the features people are looking for right off the bat.
Going to have it available in FDE? At least, the Grip, FF Tube, and stock are already available in FDE... |
|
Thank you, yes the rifles will be available with FDE and FOL furniture. The hand guards will always be black. Our panel kits that we are working on for the ssk will match the other furniture.

We are putting that on all the minuteman series rifles. We will not be offering it on the stripped lowers.

Okay. Here you go. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3783/12726286095_3d7dff4711_b.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3695/12726752464_f61eb48bb5_b.jpg I picked up this rifle from my FFL on Thursday. I was very impressed with the fit and finish of the rifle. The rifle does not come with any iron sights or optics. It does ship with one MI 30 round magazine depending on local laws. I have added the Millet DMS 1 scope. The scope is mounted in an ADM mount. The scope and mount have been in my parts box for quite some time, and I had never used it. I had no iron sights to put on it at the time. I took it to the range on Saturday and got about 30 rounds through it. We were having very high winds and it was difficult to keep the targets in place. The cardboard backers kept coming loose, and the sight in target I was using eventually ripped in the wind. Although 30 rounds is not a lot, it got the scope very close to zero. It also gave me a chance to see how the rifle felt. I used some 55 grain ammo I had in the can, and fired it out of a Magpul 30 round PMAG. The rifle had zero malfunctions. Hopefully I can get it out next week and see how it really does. So far I am impressed with the rifle. View Quote |

As someone who started with MI products on my first AR (AR-10) many years ago...I have to say, this day has been a Long waited one...I new they would do it...
I had faith in MI...and Troy. It is a Superb Rifle..I was very impressed with the Complete Upper...which is the same on the rifle...Can't wait to get out and put some rounds down range. I have to even say, this will be Replacing My M-15 as my Tactical Go to rifle...and #1 Rifle... Outstanding Job Guys...This MI owner is truly In Heaven.... SASS |

I have to ask...any future plans for a .308 Minuteman Rifle...I think I would trade off my ArmaLite for that...

We will be releasing a light weight version of this rifle in the next week or two . It will use a Criterion 1-8 chrome lined barrel. It tips the scale at 6.0lbs.
thanks TROY MI |

My guess, besides a slimmer barrel, is that you may have changed up the furniture a little. Besides that, the only other thing I can think of is that you used forged receivers, but that doesn't seem to be in keeping with your mission with this rifle. Also, I'm going to go ahead and venture a guess that the Criterion Barrel has a custom contour not available currently. None of their current barrels look super slimmed down. |
