It's different material altogether. You have, in the upper section of the brace - that you would cheek-weld - a very sturdy, hard plastic - like a stock. And the theoretically more flexible part is however and unexpectedly (and very pleasantly!) sturdier than rubber. It is rubber; it must be. It's just reformulated, harder rubber. Harder to flex - more appropriate for its scope here. View Quote What are the weights of the SBA & SBM? Thanks for the posts |

^ That's a really cool pistol.
Meanwhile, wanted to take a different angle at this build with the SBA4 (I had been waiting for a long time for the SBA4, as I wanted this build to resemble as much as possible DeNiro's Heat 733. Original Colt 11.5 barrel and vintage handguards, pistol grip. Windham upper, Colt BCG. The SBA4 is so far the only brace I accept on this build, other than the original Colt N Stock which I can't have here in Commieformia) Colt 733 Replica by SoloDallas, on Flickr Colt 733 Replica by SoloDallas, on Flickr HeatColt733-2 by SoloDallas, on Flickr |

One of these days I need to remedy that. Even with Dead Air's Sandman K suppressor on that 10.5in barrel in 5.56 it still spits a good bit of flame. |

Different upper, same SBA4. I think it looks even better with a beefier upper with a 11.5 fat barrel on A2 Colt receiver etc.

I love the variety of braces I see. Quick questions, are they all set-screwed stationary or are they adjustable like a six-position stock? If I can't find a style brace I like, does that mean I must use a cushioned buffer tube or can I install a stock in a locked position (or does that make the pistol now an SBR)?
