Who made the barrel?

It's Armalite NM barrel, and that model came with threaded barrel which was nice.

My AR-10A4F, I have added the Magpul rifle length handguard, Harris bi-pod and Redfield Revolution glass.  I think the stock needs to be updated a bit but I have not settled on anything.  Suggestions?

It's the CGT version.

The POI stays on your day scope.  I can move it from one rifle to the other.

At first, I was wondering if I was going to need a lighted reticle day scope, but the normal reticle shows up quite well.

I have to raise my scope to get more in line with the PS22.  I have the 1 piece ArmaLite high mount on order for my SS 3-15x42.

That one is one of my fixed 10x42 SS scopes.

I have been told they don't work well above 6x (why I got a variable), but looking through it last night with that fixed 10x wasn't bad at all.

[#15]
Larry I know the zero stays on your day scope but there was some reported issues with the first units, something about collumnation (above my head) but in laymans terms it meant a shifting zero.It's good to hear you are not having any issues.  I have read some pretty decent reviews from the more recent uints. I am 80% certain I am going to get one next year. ...

Did you guys have to mod your MOE handguards in any way to get them to fit on your AR-10's?  I'm having a bitch of a time getting mid length MOE handguards onto my AR-10C.

Could you explain what you did?  The Armalite handguards suck ass so I'd really like to get the Magpul's to work.

Some pix of how I modified the heat shield to clear the larger chamber.  I also moved the front sight forward about .020.

I really need to learn how to take pictures. These new-fangled digital cameras never work for me.

Just picked this up for a song

Better camera maybe

I don't know how authentic this thing is. The lower and the front sight say ArmaLite but I don't know much about these. For $750 I'm not going to be too upset if it's not 100% Armalite

ETA - I have no clue what that stain on the sheet is, they're old and have been washed many many times, so it's not something nasty. Kid spilled hot chocolate 6 years ago and I didn't get presoak on it in time or something

Hi Tiger 222,

That is an AWESOME rig! What is the stamp on the receiver there? It doesn't look like Armalite (either Lion or Pegasus), but the magazine and receiver type are clearly modern Armalite AR-10 B-model.

[#25]

Here's my beauty; started off life as a standard Armalite AR-10 A4F. With all of my work and in its present condition, it weighs 9lbs, 8oz with an empty magazine, and shoots under 1MOA with its iron sights! The modifications I have done have included:

1. Tubbs Speedlock chrome silicon flatwire buffer spring (which does indeed lessen the recoil);

2. Magpul MIAD grip on the largest setting for my huge hands;

3. Armalite National Match 2-stage trigger, set to lightest setting for crisp, 4.5lb trigger pull;

4. Armalite Aluminum Free-float handguard;

5. Paracord wrap done by yours truly on the handguard to save my hands from cooking in the NC heat in competitions, or freezing when hunting with it in the cold. Two years on there, nothing but knots and a thin steel rod around which the cord is knotted, and still solid and tight as ever;

6. VTAC Mk. II Padded Tactical 2-point Sling, attached to free float handguard and buttstock by buttstock adapter, makes wrapping up tight and shooting with a sling easy, as well as hands-free carrying;

7. Battlecomp BABC, which virtually eliminates muzzle rise, and does a better job eliminating flash than the old A2 flash hider;

8. S&W M9 OD Bayonet, with muzzle ring milled out by me to fit over the wider diameter of the Battlecomp, then reblued;

9. Armalite extra-tall AR-10 A2/A4 FSB with bayonet lug, pinned with taper pins;

10. RRA LAR-15 A2 Stand-Alone Rear sight, with internals replaced with Armalite AR-10 A2 rear sight components, allowing for range and trajectory adjustments for the 7.62x51 cartridge, with DPMS .2/.045 National Match Aperture; and

11. Large collection of 20 and 25-round Armalite Generation II Magazines, all treated for corrosion resistance with Krylon Jeep paint, which just happens to match the OD of the furniture perfectly!!

This thing has seen me through 3-gun matches, NRA High Power, and many hunts. It has been filthy, covered in sand, soaking wet, and has NEVER, for any reason, had any type of malfunction. That is more than I can say for any other firearm I have ever owned, including numerous Kalashnikovs, SKS Carbines, and FALs.

I hope y'all enjoy these pictures!

Here is a right-side view, with the sling in a good position;

Here is a view from the left, showing the Battlecomp better;

Here you have a close-up of the handguard, showing my handiwork with the paracord;

and finally a good look at the muzzle for the battlecomp, sling attachment, and the A2 FSB; I never could stand the railed gas block, which would lose its zero with too much of a bump, and that A2 detachable front sight with the huge knobs that looked so ugly, added off-center weight, and got snagged on things.

Great handguard. Youll need to relieve one of the cuts more though if you run a clamp on Gas block. muzzle whip will get it.

What color/products did you use for the paint scheme?

Changed some stuff to reduce weight.  The diet included a new (lighter) scope and mount, Apex tube, and MOE rifle stock to replace the PRS.  Now comes in at a more manageable 10 lbs. 14 oz. with empty 20 round mag.

The AR10 rail and receivers were done with Alumahyde Earth Brown, the 300 BLK was done with Alumahyde Coyote.
