My first AR15 that I built from the ground up. Decided to try out the Bison Armory subsonic 1:7 twist platform. Just need to get a re-load press so I can start shooting the 200 grain subsonic 6.8 rounds and hopefully the future 220 grain, if Ben is able to get the design rolling. AAC SDN-6 tax stamp sent out as well

A little update. I swapped out the Noveske NSR 11inch rail with a Noveske 15in NSR rail today.

Got it sighted in last week and shoots great.

Northwest Tactical was taking deposits when they were at SHOT, and I jumped on it very early in the process.  It shouldn't be long before they're fairly widely available.

A wait list?  They've been available to order from LWRC directly for a couple of months now, in stock.

Am I the only one who can't leave well enough alone?

These are my two 6.8's.

The optic on the more modern one is an old Sight Unit Infantry Trilux L2A2 I had laying about.  It's actually a very nice 4x scope!

As is typical, I posted this pic the same day I ordered a rifle stock for the more modern one.  I am sick of my beard being ripped.

Here's my newest AR15, a Lewis Machine and Tool (LMT) Monolithic Rail Platform (MRP) CQB Defender Piston 16.  This is a non-catalog item that was a special order.  It is one of only two Defender Piston rifles with their "slick" upper.  All other LMT rifles with the "slick" upper are either direct impingement (DI) or are the much larger 7.62x51mm.  I know I may take some heat for replacing the already excellent SOPMOD stock with a Magpul UBR, but I really love the UBR stock.  I also added a Magpul MOE grip, Magpul MBUS Pro folding BUIS, Geissele SSA-E trigger, and Nightforce Optics 1-4x24mm NXS Compact scope on a LaRue LT120 mount.  I applied the camouflage pattern myself after completely disassembling the rifle, using Duracoat (base of Magpul FDE with Tactical Woodland Green and Tactical Woodland Brown) and an airbrush.  The rifle came with a 5.56x45mm barrel and bolt, but with the MRP's quick-change barrel feature I can swap it out with a 6.8 SPC barrel and bolt, which is what it's equipped with in this picture.  Despite the fact that was a 6.8 SPC rifle when this picture was taken, the magazine is one of nine PMAG Gen M3 I painted to match the rifle.  These are great for when I'm running the 5.56x45mm barrel and bolt, but don't work reliably with 6.8 SPC.  For that, I have several steel Barrett 30-round 6.8 SPC magazines.  But I didn't paint those, so I used the PMAG for the picture.

I'm absolutley loving this setup... PSA CHF Upper, DD Bolt carrier group, Samson 11" rail.

It shoots MOA. I took two deer with it last year in MO, cant wait to hunt with it this fall. Anyone on the fence about a 6.8 as a variant... DO IT!!
