any of you know when the KX5 will be available.. using it to finish my SBR build.. I spoke to Noveske and while super nice the answer is vague... anyone know how soon we can expect to see this thing?
thanks.. |

KX3 adds the same length as a KX5
http://shopnoveske.com/products/kx5-flash-suppressor-w-crush-washer KX3 Nitride Finish 4.5 ounces 1.2 inch Dia 3.25 inch OAL I have read that the KX3 adds about 2.5 inches.. and not all rails are measured the same.. so your barrel + device then physically measure the rail.. I I have a 7.5in barrel + the KX3 (around 2.5in) to get you to around 10in.... my rail is a hair over 9inches... hope that helps.. |
|
Yeah I saw it's the same length. I'd guess this is on a 7.5" build , but just want to make sure before I order as I'm going with the NSR as well. Thanks for the help though.

I don't blame Noveske for not releasing a certain date, look at what happens to Magpul when they give an ETA.
Regarding the shot shown above, I don't recall the length, it was something I threw together for a quick picture, and then immediately pulled it apart for another project. I do know that with that shot I had to shim the barrel a bit to get the KX5 to stand out that far. I don't consider it a big deal, but wanted to point it out. This might have been a 10 or 11.5 on a 13.5. Sorry I'm not more help on this one. I need to give Noveske a call anyway, so I'll see if I can get a better time frame for you on the release, last I heard it should have been in the next week or so but that wasn't anything official. |
|
I get the whole date thing like with Magpul... but the thing is here they are produced on some level... people have them.. they were "shipping soon" since like a month ago... I get production is not an overnight situation... and I have no issues with Noveske they are always super nice when I talk to them...
we are just excited to get the product.. in my case at least it is the last piece I need to be able to run my gun.. lol |

Below I have some pics of the soon to be released KX5. The set up below is a 12" barrel with a 13.5 NSR It sticks out 1.75" past the rail. There is still some barrel past the receiver so total length is slightly16 shorter The KX5 length is 3 3/8" long. Based on these measurements I have figured: A 13.7" barrel + KX5 = 16.1" +/-. If you add a 15" NSR it will stick out 1.25" +/- A 14.5" barrel + KX5 = 16.9" +/-. If you add a 16.7 NSR it will stick out roughly 1" +/- ( I have this build coming so I will take some finished pics) Hope this helps. View Quote This should put a 10.5 barrel at 1/4" past a 13.5!! Thanks for the insight! |
|
It can be pinned like the KX3
I have a 14.5" with a pinned KX5 coming back. |

I'm just hoping for a stocking stuffer from the AR-Santa! As mentioned above, this would be the last part for me as well. I'm not even planning to shroud the muzzle device with a rail per se, but having the option would be nice. I would pin the KX5 to a 13.7" Rainier Ultra match. I choose a Geissele rail as they all use the same barrel but, but would need a KX5 to remove the rail vs. Pinning things in place with the KX3. I'm also running an SLR Rifle works DA7 adjustable gas block. The KX5 is the perfect solution for my build.

I am hopeful they will hit before them as I was told that is certainly possible... but they just dont want to promise anything.. |

Thanks for the update. I get it, and its obviously more than just over promise / under perform issue. There is the whole
Web site / store front relaunch, and maintaining the brand post-John. Leads me to believe we'll see some other things by SHOT. Interesting to see when barrel availabilities improve for them too. Stick....will Rainier be getting any KX5 inventory, or is this something Noveske will be selling direct on their new website? |

Bump....its been a month. Anyone got a release date to share?
|
|
I'm waiting too. Have an 8.2" 300 Blackout Noveske build waiting.

Yea. I would never ask a long time industry insider, and long time personal friend of John Noveske himself, to answer any questions about a Noveske product. I'll just go with internet rumors. |

According to the Noveske FB page, KX5 release is now pushed back several more weeks, February....maybe.
Looks like a classic case of premature marketing. |

What length barrel and NSR rail is on the bottom pistol? Just bought a Sig M400 pistol and am going to swap out the rail for a FF keymod. Looking hard at the NSR rails. Thanks in advance.

Nice pics of a preproduction model. Any more updates when the KX5 will be available to the general public? Weren't the teaser images from Stick put out in late October 2013?

I'm really excited to get a KX5 for my build! I hope they release sooner than later!

The last elusive piece to the pistol build puzzle. Take my money!

Any input on a 16.7 NSR, 16in barrel, and KX5? I havent seen anyone go that route. Personally I wanted to avoid pinning :/

Has anyone ordered a KX5 from Noveske? I read on their FB page that they have them, but are waiting for packaging. The post said you could call and order, and your KX5 would be shipped in plain brown cardboard packaging.
