THE COLT 0921HB BARREL IS STANDARD M4 CONTOUR FSB FORWARD. AFT OF THE FSB IT IS 0.850", EXCEPT FOR THE FLATS SHOWN. THOSE I RECALL TO PROVIDE TWO PARALLEL SURFACES 0.750" APART LEFT TO RIGHT.

Doesn't Diemaco have a heavy M4 style barrel that is .750 under the handguards?

Our SFW/C8A2 is a 15.8" .750 barrel IIRC (I never mic'd it) |

Send me an email and I'll fax you a copy of the drawing. BTW that Hbar came standard on M4's issued to the last Army unit I had the chance to talk with and see their carbines, guys here at Ft. Lewis. Production was 2003 Colt M4's and all had the new Hbar barrel. Latest barrel, latest stock too. This "SOCCOM" barrel started out a SON (statement of need) to AMSTA-Rock Island from the Ft. Bragg group. ARDEC from Picatinny got involved and low and behold. Its now a standard. The part number listed on the drawing is 12991850. There is no drawing number reference because the package includes the standard barrel contour along with the special barrel as well. JohnM at Home |

The flats on the barrel almost look as if they are an armorer's aid in assembly. It would definately eliminate the need for a barrel vise lock. What do you think?

What would be different than using an HBAR and relieving the part where the M203 is mounted? I think that would be cheaper than $1700 for a new upper!
