I read on page 1 that the correct acog would either be the TA01nsn or the TA01-ECOS.

Do you all know if the TA01-ECOS i often see at ebay with the RMR(Tan or FDE with black rmr on top) kosher? Or its better off with a regular TA01nsn?

Thanks!

You can get a aimpoint pro and still find the qrp mounts available. We also used the larue m68 mounts or Wilcox mounts as well and sometimes the arms  mounts.

For the aimpoint pro you can still get the original battery and adjustment knob covers like the m68 had to look like the m68 had.

The qrp 3 mount with spacer would be closer than the aco mount.

Yep with the spacer you get the lower 1/3 cowitness just like the original m68 mount.  If you need me to take pics of my gen 1 I have set aside for my build, tomorrow I can dig it out of my parts and I can. That way you can compare it to the qrp 3.

That looks like a qrp 2 without the bottom spacer.
Ie the one that comes on the aimpoint pro.

That would be much appreciated! As ive been searching high and low for pictures to compare and i cant find any. Ive now narrowed down my choices to either an aimpoint pro with said modified mounts(qrp3 + spacer) OR ta01nsn for a block I  build.

Just ordered the CQD end plate and forward sling mount. Build is coming together slowly but surely. Took the rifle to the range last week and got the Eotech zeroed. Can't decide if I want to stick with the CTR or get another SOPMOD stock and I still need to grab a MATECH sight.

Picked up my PSA Sabre M4A1 today from my FFL. Swapped a KAC rail I had in my bin for years in lieu of the Prudent (I believe) it came with and borrowed my Mk18s ACOG.  I think I'll probably keep it and put an EXPS3 on the Mk18.

P&W is nice on mine for anyone wondering about these and it also has the straightest FSB I've ever gotten (including my Colt 14.5).

Hot. The one thing I don't like about those Sabre M4s is that the serial number uses an "SM4" prefix instead of a "W" prefix like the stripped lowers. Just an OCD thing. Overall looks very nice and is definitely a nice cheap way to get a simple Block I

Yes the pics are of the qrp 1 and I think the qrp 3 I posted links to is quite comparable. I think if you can't find a qrp 1 in the ee then the 3 is an excellent replacement.

Ordered a blem G SSA trigger for my M4. Couldn’t pass up on $120 G triggers. I’m hoping it takes 4-6 weeks honestly. If it comes out this week, my wife will bury me. 🤣Also have a Colt ambi safety on the way.

Work in progress. (Sorry for the awful phone pics shiny spots are just oil)

Planning out M4A1 build and narrowed down MD to 4-prong or CT FH. Anyone ever used both and have feedback to share?

I’d be fine with either. I don’t care about any ping from 4P and I’m good with standard A2 (which I’ve heard the CT somewhat mimics). Extended A2 not an option…I want the suppressor compatibility.

FWIW…the CT came into play when I was going down AFSOC inspired route. But after going through 50+ pages of this thread I’ve realized I’m gonna end up with a crossbreed of an MWS/Block 1/PR build. So I’m not tied to either one that much at the moment…just never used either. You guy’s probably have

Wrapping up the national guard clone. LE6920 with the 16" barrel replaced with a 14.5" Colt socom.

Pretty similar to what I had while I was in minus the ambi safety and a Comp M4 instead of a Comp M4s. My ETS gift M952V too

So im almost sorted out with this block I build and just waiting on a dedicated lower and some kac rail covers.

But i ran into a little gap when using the spacer inbetween the QRP mount this pristine comp m2 came with. Is this normal for these spacers during the era?

Function wise its awesome, but my eyes lock onto those gaps every dang time.

Thanks for the replies.

Yeap i was shocked too when i recieved this aimpoint, it had the box and paperworks and etc as if the previous owner bought it and stored it somewhere 20 something years ago.
Wonder it the purple tint is caused by the age of the anno or did it really come like that bnew from factory.

The colt upper i got too had a hint of purplish.

A little of both. I've had new parts/guns that were somewhat purple from the factory and others that faded into purple after living in the sandbox for a year+ at a time.

A fun transitional clone, this is my take on a 75th Ranger Regiment M4A1, Iraq, 2006. Upper is all Colt, 2004 dated SOCOM barrel. For being almost 20 years old, it's a nice little setup.

Brownells never shipped out my upper and yesterday arms unlimited sent email said the Colt uppers were in stock so I jumped on it before it was out of stock. 160.00 shipped and will be here Monday.
I can start to assemble my upper and hopefully I'll get parts for my lower for Christmas as that is all I had on my list for Christmas.
