Well, since the old one is archived I don't see a problem with starting another. I guess I should start:

Probably centurion, since it's a centurion cmr rail. Don't know that anyone else makes those style rail covers.

Thanks.

Terrible as pictured haha.
Super muzzle heavy. Govt profile barrel under there. It doesn't get shot that often and wears the suppressor even less, but it feels pretty predictable without the can.

I can FINALLY contribute to this thread.

I figured it was fitting to use a old school bushmaster rolled lower for this

DelTon dissy rifle gassed barrel
ACE Entry stock with a 1'' DPMS extender
LMT fixed irons
Spikes T2 buffer & generic carbine spring.
Geissele SSA-E trigger
LWRC ambi safety.

Shoots like a dream. So soft, no muzzle rise.

Still gotta get a DD A1.5 rear sight, other than that it is complete. PSA Stainless dissy upper that I had bead blasted by a friend to knock the shine off. Had this lower sitting around for almost 2 years and it kept getting pushed to the back burner due to jeeps and motorcycles but I finally got it finished.

Has anyone attempted to make a dissipator with a 13" Geissele MK4? I realize that either the handguard would have to be cut down or that the FSB would have to be mounted slighly more forward (which seems to be the easier option).

I am strongly considering it. My hesitation is that the FSB on my current dissipator is pinned, and if I have to move it up some, I'm not positive how well re-pinning it would work out. I don't want to buy a new barrel, and if that ended up being needed, I might skip it.

ETA for some pics.

Overlayed existing configuration.

Showing overlap.

Looks like the FSB would need to move up about 3/8" - 1/2".

I'm trying to figure out how that would even work. The barrel and rail would need to be installed on the upper first so you'd be re-pinning the FSB without a jig I guess? Seems like a bad idea, but maybe I'm missing something.

ETA: Since this is a pic thread.

I would have to strip the barrel, install the rail, and then mark the location to pin the FSB. Then, the rail would have to come off, the barrel could then be drilled with a jig, and then everything could be assembled. The FSB would have to be pinned on after the rail is installed.

As far as using the same barrel, if the FSB was moved forward enough so that the rear pin sits in the middle of the two exisiting slots, I don't think there would be any structural concerns with the barrel itself. I'd have to paint over the old pin locations or something.

Not committed, still mulling this over.

Of couse, I could just switch to a set screwed FSB.

I am not sure why, but I don't care for the Magpul Rifle Length handguards.  I love the carbines.  And I replaced my A2 carbine handguards with the magpul on my Sig M400, but for some reason, for me, it is the opposite on the rifle length.  I really prefer the A2 or even the triangle.
What got me started on this Dissy thing was the other day, I was thinking I need a lower on the cheap so I can run a slidefire full time on the lower and switch it out between my uppers, EXCEPT the NFA's.  PSA was running a special on complete Blem lowers on the cheap, I thought perfect.  Couldn't build one for that.  Then, While I was on the PSA website, I saw a sweet dissy upper for cheap.  got that too.  Long story short, I need a new cheap lower for my slide fire.  I'll post pics when it gets here.

This might save you some trouble & effort trying to pin anything:

http://shop.deztacticalarms.com/Sights_c36.htm

DEZ makes Clamp on FSBs for 0.750" or 0.625" diameter barrels.  I have a 16" Carbine barrel that came with a low-pro gas block that I'd like to make a bit more retro.  I hate carbine handguards, so I was looking into clamping this on to make a mock-midlength-dissipator.

Middy, right? If that qualified, then 10.5" carbines and 7.5" pistols would qualify. Cool build, but not a 16" with rifle sight radius.
