Well, since the old one is archived I don't see a problem with starting another. I guess I should start:

When Ergo started producing them for half of what an original M93 goes for, I figured I'd give it a shot.  I haven't used it enough to say whether I'm sold on it or not.  It's heavier than I thought it would be.

This rifle as shown is 11lbs 4oz with a loaded magazine.  Bare, without optic, sling, light or mag, it weighs 7lbs even.  The barrel profile is M4.

Yes.  The front sight base is not a gas block, a front sight only, and a low profile gas block is used underneath the handguard.

Just a quick question about the foliage green guys, I see a lot of you guys are using that on the rifles, is there any paint I can pick up to match foliage green?  I got a green stock but it doesn't match the rest of my furniture etc.

thanks!

so i'm picking a stock for my spike's lw dissipator. i like the gun to balance towards the rear slightly. it's probably going to wind up with nothing more than a surefire G2x out front, an AFG and a PA micro red dot.

any suggestions on which magpul stock would balance it best? (since there are so many to choose from now) i'm a monkey armed guy so i might need the ACS chassis, but not sure if the ACS-L would be too light... I think even a Moe is long enough with the extended pad, but it looks unbalanced to me. Needs a meaty looking stock.

Any opinions?

i'm definately not forking out money for a SOPMOD.

STR or ACS is what i'm thinking, but the ACS-L might work too?

probably go ACS when everyone starts selling theirs on the EE to fund the new hotness.

If you don't feel like ordering spray paint online, and aren't OCD about an exact color match, Rustoleum makes a self-etching primer that gets you pretty close and can be found at any Lowe's or HD.

Here you can see my barrel/gas block is painted, while the furniture is still original foliage.  Like I said, not perfect, but close enough

I have a Bushmaster M4 Dissipator barrel, Bushmaster A1/C7 upper, and an A1 stock at home.  I am waiting on the PSA lower I ordered to arrive($49 sale) and then I will put it all together.

The bad thing is I also have a M4 stock and a flat top upper that I could use for the build too.

Decisions, decisions...

I think I will stick with the A1/C7 fixed stock set up and use a goose neck mount for a micro red dot.  At least for now.

It's not hard.  Practice on a mag or something first.  You'll see it's easy enough.

-De-grease like a MO-FO
-Prep the part with a way to hold it and hang
-Make sure your the room AND the can of alumahyde is warm (even better HOT).
-Do lots of light coats, using a heat gun to dry it each time you re-coat.
-get it all done in one hour.
-Let it sit for a week. (the only shitty part)
-Enjoy!

Have you tried using Alumahyde for camo?  I have done mags and they look great, but I have yet to see/hear of anyone doing an all alumahyde II camo job.  My problem is that if you are supposed to recoat within thirty minutes, or wait till it cures will it adhere after the first coat has cured after a week???

I also posted on your thread in the refinishing forum about this. I did a Beretta CX4 Storm (pictured in the link below) in camo with Alumahyde. You have to wait between coats and it sticks to itself. I never handled the parts except with rubber gloves on throughout the whole process, so I wasn't worried about cleaning between coats. Take your time on the prep work, spray the complicated areas first, and be very very patient with the curing times... don't try to rush it.

Well I guess it could be the scale but I doubt it's off by much.

The LaRue BUIS and EoTech w/ mount are comparatively heavy pieces of gear and I probably would have choose something else if I was going for a LW rig.

ETA: Sgwlower has a good point, the stock isn't the lightest of the bunch either.

your stock is probablly up there in weight as well. I know my acs made mine heavier––however I wouldn't trade the balance at this point.

I think I am going to pick up a good scale this weekend.  If/when I do, I'll be sure to post pics with the findings––whatever they are.  Your rifle sure doesn't look much different than mine.  .7 of a pound seems like a big difference; but like you say, your scale doesn't give you much to go on.
