Why in the hell would anyone waste money on inconel for a brake? there is zero need for inconel in this application.

not trying to start a war here, just making the community aware that they are again in stock.

Quoted: Why so much $$$? Inconel is a a pain in the butt to machine, it's a super steel. The design is very intricate and as a result it's a lot time of EDM machines for each brake. Lotsa machine time + expensive machines = spendy. I don't like brakes in general, i like my hearing levels the way they are now, lol
|
|
Theyve been out of stock for ~6months and in 2 hours they have flat sold out.

I use quite a bit of inconel in my job and i still think it is overkill even for suppressed applications but then again if one were to have the money, go for it. |

Why in the hell would anyone waste money on inconel for a brake? there is zero need for inconel in this application. In combination with the suppressor that goes with it, the brake essentially acts as the first blast baffle of the suppressor. In that application it's subject to considerable heat. There was some discussion of making them out of a more standard material for non-suppressed use but that hasn't happened so far. |

Just so everybody is aware and doesn't start freaking out the first run Triple Tap did not have any form of a finish or coating. These new muzzle brakes do and it looks pretty good.
http://www.knightarmco.com/upload/muzzle1.jpg http://www.knightarmco.com/upload/muzzle2.jpg This is for those who complained about them being "shiney" |

damn, and I just got used to the idea of the old style break.
What are they coated with? |
|
My buddy got one and works good. For the cost I like the FSC556 better myself.

I prefer to find a happy balance of cost and performance. 400 dollars for the KAC doesn't match the performance, now if it was a 100 bucks sure. |
|
Anyone have a cross section view of these or does anyone have any dimensions such as length, width, width of the slits etc.
|
|
I want four of them. I only have two ar uppers...
Its so damn sexy. |
|
Stupid question, but....Is it ridiculous to put on of these on a 16in barrel? I know that they are super useful on SBR's but how's the recoil reduction on a standard M4?

Its why you don't see many exotic cars driving around. If you are looking at $100 performance, there are other designs on the market that should make you happy. |

There are a few guys that post here using them. There are discussions on other boards that go into depth a little more. |

I just received my Triple tap muzzle break from Operation Parts. Upon opening the package I notice that my break is all black. It is my understanding that this break is to be shipped "in the white" and then darkened with use. I am now suspicious of the authenticity of this product? I sent operation parts an email, what do you guys think?

And just to help avoid the panic, there is a batch of non-balckened ones coming out as well right behind the new black ones in an effort to fill back-orders. The black one like the one pictured above was from a test run, and the run right behind it skipped the black plating.
So don't be surprised if there are a mix of silvery and black comps in the near term. Once we catch up, they will all be black. By the way, the plating is unobtanium black #2. |
|
I understand the cost after looking at the close-ups. EDM time and the programming of the machine have to be super intricate!
And with such a tough metal to boot. |
