I have a rifle that looks like the one under "bad" cept it's much dirtier

Never had an issue with a round catching the feed ramp in the upper and below the barrel extension.  Doesn't mean I won't though I'm sure.  Should I go RRA on it and break the dremel out?

Look for chain saw sharpening bits anywhere they are sold.

For the "OK" (M4 barrel w/non-cut receiver), is it "OK" because it just looks a little "off", or does it actually create some functioning problems?  I really would like an a1 upper with a M4 barrel, but I'm wary of that being an issue

you can make it Good in about 5 minutes. notching the receiver is super easy. most of the time you get a better fit that way than if you bought an m4 upper and barrel sometimes they dont line up properly..

I Know it's not Thursday, but I do have a question regarding the top right pic. It is acceptable to have a slight lip on the rifle extension ramp over the receicver cuts? That would'nt cause jams?

since we screwed up the Thursday bumps and on a education roll. Why M4 feed ramps? I just checked mine and it doesn't have the M4 feed ramps even though its an m4gery.

It's not desireable, but it's usually acceptable.
The test REALLY IS to go shoot it and see if there is a problem or not.

The barrel extensions in the picture do not have index pins installed, so if you see a slight offest in the ramps, it's just because I did not set the extension perfectly into place.

These pictures were taken for YOUR educational purposes.
Please don't nit-pik if I did not get them absolutely perfect.

I wasn't nit picking at all. I was just wondering if it was acceptable as on my LMT upper there is a slight lip.

Anyone know how to bump the original M4 thread from the archives?

archive.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=191733

You can't bump from the archives, but you could copy the text into a new thread and then add the same pictures.

Then it would be a dupe (or would this). You could always copy/paste Bigbore's post (giving credit of course) into your first post of this thread. Then everything would be in one nice, tidy place.

Should not the proper M4 feed ramps say "Better" instead of "Good"

Better how? you are talking 2 different kinds of barrel extensions.  They both work if they are properly matched.
