1: do they use 4140 or 4150 steel in the barrel?
2: Warranties expressed and implied? (what waranty?)
3: milspec buffer tube? (is his really important?)

This is to help with my next M4orgery purchase, thanks for the help!

Rocko

I checked the general firearms comparison chart no stag...

1. The 16" barrels are 4140, they did have a run of 14.5" barrels that were 4150.

2. Not sure on the warranty. I bought a used lower half and didn't see anything on there website.

3. Mine has the commercial tube. I found this out two days ago when I tried to put on a Magpul CTR. Now I need to go buy a mil spec buffer tube.

Hope this helps a little.

They should be using a Mil-spec RECEIVER EXTENSION.  I have a couple of them on my carbines and they work fine with a VLTOR and a Colt stock I have.

Yep, thats the words I couldn't think of. Thanks.

Hope this helps a little.

In Canada, Stag warranty on parts, or seperately purchased uppers or lowers is one year. For complete rifles, it's lifetime. I'm sure the waranty is limitted to manufacturing defects like barrel cracks or poor welds, forging ect. For a quality manufacturer, this should not be much of an issue.

Telemachus, from what I've read, your Stag should have a mil spec receiver extension.  But, it could have been changed to commercial

I have seen that they were going to comercial size reciver extensions. But that CMT there parent co. Was still makeing Mil size. A few months back. Thats why I like bulding them myself. Dont have to swap out parts you dont want. Or are Not right.
