Would someone tell me what the "D" stamp indicates?

I've had a few DPMS carriers come from the factory with a "D" stamping like that. Some had no stamping.

Bolt has the stamp too.

+1, 4 now, bolts too first two were too big around to slide in the upper

i have a dpms bolt stamped in the same manner as well
