Thanks, but yours has more options. Mine's a stripped down model right now. I even have a Surefire 6P like you but no mount yet. Haven't made a final decision on the optic. I like your Aimpoint but I'm still looking at the Eotechs.

How's that old song go - "You take Mary and I'll take Sue. Ain't no difference twixt the two."

Thank you, I like it very much. It's plenty accurate out to 50 yards. Need to find a longer shooting range & see how it does further out. Have a red dot for it plus I can mount an ACOG (4x) if I want.

This isn't really a new build, it's more of a re-configuration. The basic gun is the same but I switched out the LaRue BUIS for a Troy, ditched the vertical grip, moved the 6P over from another carbine and installed a Vickers sling.

Here are the complete specs:
- PWA 'Commando' lower receiver
- CMT/Stag Lower Parks Kit
- Tango Down grip
- Magpul trigger guard
- VLTOR buttstock with H buffer
- CMT upper receiver
- Sabre Defence 1:7 twist mid-length barrel
- LaRue 9.0
- CMT M16 BCG with MP'd bolt and Wolff Extra Power extractor spring
- PRI Gas Buster charging handle
- LaRue EoTech Riser mount
- EoTech 552 Rev F
- SureFire 6P
- VLTOR SureFire mount (Classic)
- MI #6 Sling Mount
- Blue Force Vickers 2-Point Sling
- Tango Down panels
- Magpul rail ladders

Here's a few gun porn pictures with a couple of M&P9s thrown in 'just because'.

Great looking rifles guys.

Might have to build/buy one.

Who builds the best (highest quality) guns/parts for a mid length carbean out there?

I would say Bravo/Sabre.
CMMG's barrels have always been fine for me, but some people have apparently had issues.

It takes a 12" rail to cover a middy location gas block?

Thanks

Depends on which gas block you get. My 10" Troy rail just  barely covers my troy gas block on my Sabre build.

I agree with steve-oh in that Sabre and Bravo Company probably build the best mid-length barrels out there. Finding a Bravo right now is next to impossible but hopefully Paul will have another run of them soon.

I to have had great success with CMMG stuff as well so if come across one of them my advice is to go for it!

The Troy Low Profile Block is almost covered w/ a Troy 10" Rail
Must be 1/8" or less that it protrudes forward but not enough to be concerned about.

Another option is to go the midwest industries route. It's a little more cost effective, and the rail is I think lighter, at least it feels that way.
Here's my midlength 18" SPR, MI gas block and rifle length rail.

Latest addition and I have a strange urge to build another just like it.  Operator 16" barrel, SDI extended A2 flash hider, Larue 9.0 rail, Surefire Scout light, Aimpoint M2, LMT SOPMOD stock.

Operator 16" barrel, Vortex, Larue 12.0 rail, TA31 ACOG, LMT SOPMOD stock, Troy irons.  Looking to possibly replace this glass with one of those TA33R8.

Noveske 16" stainless barrel, Vortex, Larue 12.0 rail, Larue Stealth upper, TA31F ACOG, LMT SOPMOD stock, Troy irons, Harris BRMS bipod w/ARMS adapter.  Waiting ever so patiently for the Magpul UBR stock.

WOA 18" SPR stainless barrel, KAC long FF RAS, VLTOR MUR-1A upper, Nightforce 2.5-10x NXS, Harris BRMS bipod with Larue adapter, Troy front iron, ARMS 40L rear.  I am not a fan of muzzle brakes, but think the OPS Inc brake or PRI Quiet Brake will look cool as a replacement for the A2 flash hider.

Mr Pug gives his approval but insist I hurry up and buy a mini red dot just in case the zombies invade.
