Just looking for some examples of interesting transportation cases for your AR. Either broken down or not. Something besides the obvious gun case. Thanks.

Here are a couple of pics of my "covert carry case". Made from an electronics bag for a local manufacturer. It carries 2 AR's broken down.

Not sure how unusual this case is, but here is my trunk gun:

The case is actually for a paintball gun, found in the clearance bin at Wal-Mart for $5.00. It has just as much padding as my Galati soft case, and the zipper seems every bit as heavy duty.

I use a Carvin Bass guitar case for rifle trips to the range.  I figure nosey neighbors won't
get as alarmed, and if they search for the word Carvin on the internet after seeing it in huge letters
on the side of my case, they'll just get guitar and bass guitar results.

Case screams "absolutely worthless". Consequently, it possesses nil theft value.

That's a nice compact carry bag.  In a car trunk, someone might take a look in it, but unless
someone lifted it and felt the weight, they'd probably overlook it in a cluttered setting like a garage
or basement.

My thoughts for a great case would be to secure one of these used:

and then gut it, by some foam, and slap some music/guitar stickers all over it...

I want to see guitar/gun cases! Maybe even some links to cheap guitar cases that are still made tough that you like.

i haven't tried it yet , but i measured the inside of my ibanez guitar case, and the official lenght of the SPR(39.1", i think) will fit inside. the inside would have to be modified of course. downside: cost 120.00 msrp new. upside: IBANEZ moulded into both sides, and it doesnt look like a rifle case. durability is up in the air, but after i get my upper built, i will go this route, and post pics.

Heh,

Yeah, I was gonna say the same thing JTAC. Thieves love guitars, and know that they seldom reside in safes. I'd choose some other concealment case, imo.

Not my AR, but will be similar using the MGI QCB upper and an integrally suppressed barrel
