I saw one at my local Walmart for $1699.
It had the same lower as the the 6920/6940, but with Black Hawk furniture, a single point sling attachment mount, a non-folding rear sight and a specific non-free floated quad rail hand guard. This rifle isn't even on Colt’s internet site. I wasn't impressed with the rifle. It’s not free floated, and you can’t fold the rear sight to mount a scope. So is this a sort of collectible/ limited edition of the 6920? Any info would be appreciated. |

It is complete rip off. I saw this same set up at my local wally world. I looked the gun over backwards and forward. That thing is so over priced its funny. It doesnt even have a Troy or KAC rail on it... Backhawk furniture for gawds sakes... To be fair the rifle comes with a crap flashlight , a few boxes of cheap ammo and some survival food in some kinda case... but IMHO it is nowhere near worth $1700... a $700 dollar gun with a few knick -knacks

OMG! seriously? Did you get the SKU number? View Quote This is the only info I've found on this gun. Follow the link and you'll see the rifle and the SKU. Apparently it comes with a whole bunch of stuff. The guy at Walmart didn't know it comes with extras. He even told me this is Colt's higher end rifle http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=376733759 |

The Pelican case is nice. But I definitely don’t want to pay extra for an “emergency drinking H2O”, nor end up with Black Hauk furniture on my Colt.
How come this isn’t on Colt’s web site? |

Our wally world just started selling ARs. I saw the place holder for that $1650 model, someone had already bought it
They did have a 6920, and some .22LR AR (not S&W though).

You ever hear that line about "Good initiative there, PFC, just really shitty judgment"?
|
|
There's a glut of rifles out there now and they have to find new and "interesting" ways of getting buyers to keep looking at the same old stuff. I'm sure the walmart crowd will eat them up.
|
|
Im going to start saving money for when the put the 2,500.00 goverment over run counter sniper optics on 6920's. why are the dicking around with this crap instead of bringing the ar 15-a4 to market?
|
|
I looked at one of these and asked the counter person how it compares to the SOCOM version. Wait for it......... they said it's a better rifle and comes with more stuff, he said look at the light on it the SOCOM doesn't come with that. I told him that he was wrong and he gave me the . Then I put the rifle down and walked away, before I told him he is really stupid and that rifle was crap.

That looks like a logical and well thought out package.
I might go buy one after I snort another line of bath salts and take another bong rip of salvia. |
|
I love my Colts
Combat Commander Railgun These aren't selling at Walmart yet are they? I just don't want to see them as part of Zombie Survival package |
|
|
It's probably cheaper to walk around Wal-Mart, and buy all the crap separately, and use the money you saved to buy a Daniel Defense from a real gun shop.
|
|
I do like that pelican case though... off to see if pelican has a black Friday sale...

Had the guy at walmart try to tell me about one, said it came with a "survival kit" i asked what was in it. First words out of his mouth was "well it comes with a fixed blade knife" I whipped 3 fixed blade knifes out of there sheaths and set em on the counter, told him i got it covered XD

I really don't see the big deal. Does it interest me? No, not at all. I'd rather built my own with high quality components. But at the same time, it is a pretty useful kit for most people getting into the game, and I don't see the problem with it.
I don't like the BHI gear or the price either. It also still only comes with one mag, which doesn't make any sense. |
|
I would expect this from DPMS, not Colt. And I'm far from a pony fanboy!

These Walmart counter people are sure getting a good impression of gun owners from all the smart ass comments they catch. It's not like they are making marketing policy at Colt.

Is that blackhawk stock any good at all? I ask because I ordered a PTAC kit off PSA and it comes with that. Basically wanted to build the cheapest AR possible...I'm at $447 with shipping and transfer..

Really cheesy, but they'll probably sell a ton of 'em. Exactly my thoughts. This pings the ghey-dar....but as a business decision, I bet its a good one. Preppers will go nuts over this. It's not my bag, but I'm gonna generally go with this... Frankly, I'm not sure I see much difference between this and "Tac Bacon" or including a bottle of dry rub with every order (not that I'm complaining about my Dillo Dust! ). Or zombie, pirate, or penis marked lowers. Neon green furniture... "Z-Max" ammunition... I'd be willing to bet that this was a distributor and/or retailer's idea, companies exist to make money, and I'd be willing to bet that this "package" sells well. Both Colt and Blackhawk! are well known brands with wide market recognition, and Walmart knows its target market. It's not ARFCOM. ::shrug:: Like I said, not my bag, but there are a lot of things on the AR market that don't appeal to me. ~Augee |

I wonder if the emergency water is just normal water or if it's tactical water? Does anyone know?!?! Come on guys, this is important! I need some tactical water to go with my Tactical Bacon I got from CMMG damnit!

I saw these on TV about 6 months back. It's a third party putting the package together. If I remember right some prepper supply D-Bag was putting these kits together. They are just basically a overpriced, low tech bug out kit geared toward the instant gratification yuppie preppers with more money than brains.

It's not something I would buy since I think it's overpriced for what you get but I wonder about the constant need that some gun-owners have to put down others for their purchasing decisions. I'm all for more people buying AR's regardless of the brands or particular packages since the more folks own "America's Rifle" the more difficult it will be to ban. Read the Heller Supreme Court decision dealing with the Constitutional right to own firearms in common usage.
This sort of gun elitism can be taken to extreme examples on a site like M4carbine.net. There they think the individuals on ARFCOM are idiots; a common insult is to say that a particularly naive post or point of view is something you would see on "TOS" (the other site). |
