My wife's gun. its a 22, so its like a practice dissy. kind of like a half dissy since its missing a FSB.

i just put the handguards on there today, the gas block was in the carbine position before. putting them on there made me want to build a dissy so bad. i think it will be my next build. she even said "wow that looks alot cooler"

For those who have built up your own dissy (using Armalites clamp on fsb or the like) how did yall go about setting the fsb and handguard cap at the right location?  Did you just butt it up to the handguards and tighten it down?

Here's mine.
LMT w A5 stock and vtac handguard. Magpul trigger guard.  Hacked off big knob on the rear sight.    I chopped the FSB then used armalites clamp on.  I used a bore sighter and my neighbors garage door handle to get it lined up.  I was still a lil off.  But what I like is that I was able to loosen it and adjust for windage so my rear sight is centered too.

I swapped on a Armalite clamp on front sight for a more Authentic look.

I was goofing around with bi-pod mounts and put one on the MOE handguard for giggles.  I drilled a few holes in my guard trying different light mounts so that is why there are holes there.  I have a illumination kit coming for the weapon light.

Balloo - What model bipod is that? And how do you like it mounted to the moe handguard? Solid?  Thanks

It's a Harris ultra light S model.  9-13" and I just threw it on there today.  I'll be hitting the range tomorrow to see how it holds up.  Got the handle in today and installed it so the swivel part can be locked down.

Worked pretty well.  This Dissy upper is a carbine length under the handguard.  It really shined with off hand shooting with a fire hose grip (bi-pod removed).  I eventually will get the Spikes or a Griffin for my other mid length dissy.

Put a magpul illumination kit on the side and ran a Solarforce tape switch.  Their tape switch is thicker than most I guess because it took some fitting to get it to work.  Put the 6P on it and the solarforce tail cap (came with pressure switch).  Works well, but time will tell for sure.

I wish magpul would extend the port son the MOE.  I had to dremel off some material to get the cover as far forward as I could.  Also a deeper and wider pocket for different sized tape switches would be awesome.

Agreed. But a tan sopmod it is just the next viable step toward legitimizing a new Eotech XPS2 or maybe an ACOG with a FDE body, gotta keep the theme going.

I need to hit the lottery...

Well done, and extra points for the fixed carry handle. Looks very classy.

Is the barrel running a break of some kind(threaded) or is it a button crown?

That would cost about as much as a Green Mountain A1 barrel and the correct FSB. Both options are fairly attractive ATM...But I do like the dissy look.

And @ TireGuy, it's a post-ban. Barrel just has a crown and no threads.
