The Geissele SMR MK1 is currently available.
Prices are as follows: 15" Black are $375 13" Black are $345 13" sand are $370 Just call into the shop and ask for Ashley or Barb. They will take your order over the phone. Note we do have some blems available. This have small cosmetic defects such as scratches before anodizing. If you are interested they are $30 cheaper. I think we have one 15" sand blem. WHG |

For reference the weights are as follows:
15" = 20.2 oz 13 "= 18.4 oz weights are with handguard, Geissele barrel nut and cross bolts but subtracting the weight of the stock barrel nut accessory rails are .82 and .46 oz |

Are there still plans to produce shorter lengths? If so, any estimated timeline for them?
Shorter lengths will be available. No definite time line has been determined yet.

Been browsing this site for what seems like forever now. Much longer than my join date. I felt I had to finally post when I got my Geissele Rail in today, thanks to Rogtac! This thing is a work of art. Pictures being worth a thousand words and all.

I recall reading somewhere that grip-panels were in the prototype stage for the SMR. Any word on how that's coming along?
I saw these at the booth in Camp Perry.
They are absolutely beautiful. |

When will 15" SMR's in sand color be available? So ... Not soon, then? |

Absolutely gorgeous. As soon as I figure out the proper length, I'll get adding one of these to my collection. Well done, Bill and crew!

I read at Rainierarms that the fit was iffy on certain billet uppers receivers. Can we get a list of which ones work, and which ones do not?
Anyone mount one on a VLTOR MUR or a LaRue Stealth upper? Thanks. |
We have no experience with any of the billet uppers. The SMR was designed for forged M4 carbine/AR15 uppers. Thanks for asking
I was just informed by a customer that the SMR works very well with the Vltor MUR 1A billet uppers.
Do you know when they will be added to the website?
ETA: I would love a 10.5" or 11" |
We have 13" available now. 11' will be ready in about 8 weeks
Please, Please, Please, make it 10.5".
11.5" SBR's need a rail that maximizes rail-estate and provides a seamless look with a suppressor. (Besides the proprietary URXII Mid) I just have to beg for .5" increments in rail lengths. 9.5" for 10.5" barrels 10.5" for 11.5" barrels 11.5" for 12.5" barrels |

10" are running in the milling dept this week. Will that be close enough?
Please please Pleeeease!! Make these rails for the .308 platform DPMS standard Armalite etc

Is there any reason why these dont have a sling swivel mount on them? I noticed the HK ones you have on your FB page do.

I see that the Super Modular Rail is now listed (although backordered) on the Geissele web site. I'm glad to see the 15" MK1 in sand is listed. I can hardly wait. A little piece of me dies every time I have to wait another week ... I'm being dramatic, but I REALLY want one.

What is the difference between the MKI and MKII? I think the primary difference (if not the only difference) is that the MKII has screw backers rather than steel thread inserts. I imagine this makes it a bit more durable, but at the cost of some weight and convenience (need to take the forend off to reconfigure the rail segments). That's just based on casual observation. Maybe there's more to it. |
The MK2 has flat sides, flat sided accessory rails, slide nuts for the accessory rails to bolt to and standard socket head cap screws for the cross bolts.
The slide nuts and the channel in the rail make installing the accessory rails a snap. It can be done with the rail installed but even if would have to be removed its 30 sec to do so |

Still love the rail though I guess a better question would be are you coming out with a bolt on swivel mount? I hate having to mount a rail section just for a swivel adapter; it looks retarded and chunky |

Is there any reason why these dont have a sling swivel mount on them? I noticed the HK ones you have on your FB page do. It looks to me that having the built in sling mount on the hk rail having to be part of the extrusion requires a lot of extra machining of a lot of extra material for the length of the rail just to leave just that raised portion, which in the end would lead to a higher cost to produce (and the hk rail does in fact cost more). My guess (and it is purely a guess) is that the military specifically asked for it on that rail. The ar rail looks to be extruded without that extra portion, requiring less machining, and allowing them to bring the rail to the market at a price point more in line with similar rails. I do think I remember seeing someone from Geissele say at some point that there are plans to create an add on sling swivel mount for the ar rails. |

The HK receiver has a higher M1913 rail than the AR and putting the QD steel insert in the AR rail was too tight to make it work. We have several options coming for QD mounting. One at 45 deg and one that attached at 9 and 3 oclock.

Any chance there's any more information on those Grip Panels? Not asking for timelines, just if its in the works or not. If so, I'll save my money and wait. |

has anybody tried to install one on a billet upper? specifically a seekins upper. I want to buy a SMR MKII rail but want to make sure it's not going to be impossible to fit correctly. TIA

all backorders??????? Welcome to the hell that is lusting for a 15" Super Modular Rail MKI Sand (which I have yet to even see a photo of). |

very nice mounting design. Are there plans to carve out more metal from one and make a lightweight version ?
Maybe, Call and ask for Ashley.
All the rails are now coming in lighter. We will have the new weights listed shortly |

Any more blems in either color, either size? Thanks! I emailed the other day and there were no blems of anything laying on the shelves :( |
