My first pistol build and it is pretty fun! Not sure why I did not build one sooner.
PSA Complete Lower, PSA 8.5" Nitride Upper with 9" M-Lok rail and KAK Flashcan. Standard PSA BCG and CH.
Honestly a fairly cheap build so I was not expecting much other than a fun range toy.
After some slow fire just to get things loosened up, I zeroed my micro dot with some Black Hills 77gr OTM. It shot this ammo really well and accurately with the 50 yard zero. Even was able to ping the 200 yard 8" steel plate pretty easily.
Never had a jam, FtF, FtE, or a failure to lock back on an empty mag. But.....it is over-gassed a bit it seems. Ejection pattern on both the AE 55gr and Black Hills 77gr was 1-2 o'clock.
I did put a BCM H2 buffer in before going to the range, but it looks like I might need to go a H3 or 9mm buffer.
The trigger was having a little trouble resetting sometimes after a shot. Might just need to be loosened up a bit more but not sure. It never got completely stuck.
I have a PSA Premium M4 16" full rifle that I love. Yesterday while cleaning I compared the PSA Premium BCG in the 16" to the "standard" BCG that came with the 8.5" upper. I could find no difference other than the lack of the PSA logo on the "standard" BCG. Maybe Weight?
Bottom line, I am pleasantly surprised by the general accuracy and function of this build, especially for the comparatively low amount of funds invested. I think if I can get the over-gassed issue under control I feel it could stay pretty reliable. Only time will tell.
Edit: Sorry no pics at the moment. Next time I get it out on the range I will try and do a little precision shooting from 50 and 100 yards and get some pics of the targets.
