Man I really hope Colt releases a new batch of these. View Quote I sent one back to Colt in July that I wasn't happy with and they sent me a letter saying they would replace it with another. A few months went by so I called and traded emails with one of the service reps and he could never get a date for the next production run. Then out of nowhere, I received the replacement a week later and it had a lower serial number then the one I sent in. How did that happen? I don't know. I've asked but they've yet to answer. |
|
That one is high on my want list but have yet to see one other than pictures on the net

|
Found one today at a local show..... It was new with the original box and an unopened accessory pack.
|
|
A few years back I put a A4 barrel on my MT6700 which really helped the balance.
I thought it was great that Colt finally offered the AR15A4 it would suck for them to stop production now. |
|
I know where to get one, F marked FSB.
But if I told you where I would be banned from this site. |

Colt is planning another production run for Feb - Mar release along with the extended hangaurd 6940
When the first batch of AR15A4's came out they barely sold. Now they are out of stock and people are bidding stupid money on GB for them along with the socom When the next batch comes out dont sit on your hands, buy one or get bent over on GB when they are out of stock again |

GT Distributors in Dallas will be getting a shipment. They take backorders at their current price then call you when it comes in. I did this with my 9mm Colt 6951. It took maybe 3-4 months before Colt had done a production run on them and they got their shipment but I got the carbine at the original price they quoted (no money down when I placed the backorder). I have a AR15A4 on backorder now with them as well. Hopefully will get it next month or March. Their price is $899. Earl

I'm glad that they're going to produce more of these A4 rifles, if they really want to sell more they should offer A1 and A2 government model rifle clones, even some retro SBR and carbines.
Some of you guys don't know that this particular AR-15A4 model configuration was first requested here at the Colt forum long time ago about 2005-2006 but the members here didn't have enough interested buyers that time, the factory needed at least about 300 firm orders to start this new model. The need for these type of rifle got popular because the availability of take off Colt M16A4 upper half are very few and the prices was very high, if you could even find them at all. It took the factory another 7 years to introduce it as a 2013 model but it got delayed because of the buying panic in early 2013, they finally released it in early 2014. Some guys at GB are buying these right now at outrageous prices, starts out at $1,500 and actually sold at about $2,200, crazy, current MSRP is $999 and my local gun shop are selling them when available at $924. I will be watching out for these, if not the complete rifle maybe just the upper half. |

F marked FSB is supposed to be more correct according to the guru's but I'm not sure it matters much. |

Price is quoted as $899+shipping. This ^^^ I Googled GT Distributors in Texas, went to their web site and didn't find the AR15A4 so I called and spoke with Nick. He said they were taking orders that should be filled in March. As stated above, price is $899 which is about $100 over wholesale cost. Did anyone check on the shipping costs and if there is a mark up for credit card payments? |
|
Is GT Distributors taking payments in advance for the waiting list?
|
|
It won't be on their website you will have to call them as others stated. They aren't your typical gunshop. GT Distributors was founded initially to cater to law enforcement. They subsequently started selling to the general public as well. No, they don't take payments in advance. Just put your name down and your contact info and will call you when it is in. I have only bought locally so I can't say what their shipping costs are. They do take credit cards though - and though I've only paid locally there wasn't a markup. Just a note, that $899 price is the general public price. If you ARE a LEO - they will probably sell it even cheaper as they generally have a lower price for law enforcement. That's for local sells, I don't know if they do LEO sells outside of local but I don't see why not as you'd still just give them a copy of your department letterhead or whatever.

I was told the charge should show up on my card by the end of this week so I guess I'll have to wait and see. I would rather that they wait until it ships to charge my card but either way, I have my place in line and I'm stoked. |

Hmm...I wonder if that is because they are having a lot of people ask for it now or if because you aren't local. I better call tomorrow to make sure I'm still good. It may be that I didn't know they were treating me differently since I go in there a lot. All my Glock blue lablels have come from them too.

This is nitpicking, but I hope they're not like these new 6920's that have been popping up with the QR code on the lower receiver, cage coded barrel, engraved serial number, etc.

I believe I specifically asked that question too. In regards to price, I've never seen a non-LEO price lower than this for that particular Colt. Not saying it hasn't been, but I certainly have never seen it. ETA: They told me shipping was $25 and didn't mention a CC fee. |

During my conversation with them, I asked if they would like for my to pay now and Nick stated payment was not required until the rifles arrived.
