Move to the top, as I called and left a message for Juli on 2/11/14 and still have not heard anything. I was asking about the barrel length change so I could get a rifle offer. I have an 18" and a 20" on order thinking to change to a 16" on one of the rifle's. Ordered back in Oct and Nov of 2012. A time frame would be appreciated on the 18 and 20".
|
|
A time frame on 18 & 20" 7.62's for TOBR & OBR's. I don't really want a TOBR, the OBR will wear a PRS stock as Massachusetts has made collapsible stocks Verboten.
My buddy wants me to hurry up and get my OBR as I will then sell him my M1A. |

It pisses me off that GM-Guy (and anyone else there) would be a criminal for simply buying a collapsible stock. I'd like to see what the authorities would do if the gun owning population of MA protested publicly with collapsible stocks and whatever else may have been outlawed. Would they truly try to ticket and/or arrest that many people? |
|
The answer is no, they wouldn't, not as a group anyway. The LEO's will occasionally scout gun ranges and gun shows, and FFL's cannot transfer a post 1994 rifle with a collapsible stock - the latest read is they can't even pin it in place - if the factory makes it with a collapsible it needs to go through a third party (say in NH) then they pin it, and sell it to you. Yes, this makes both liable under a Straw Purchase.
On the bright side, the folks in CT (as of Jan 1) had to have all their 'Assault Weapons' and std mags registered - or become a class C or D felon. They got 20% compliance, the rest of the folks said F-no. The pols are currently trying to figure out what to do - some want an amnesty (register now...or else) and other Hartford Courant, wants confiscations door-to-door (that will not go well). Massachusetts is currently considering new laws (still under wraps) but if past sop is any guide, they will release the text late on a Friday, and have votes first thing in the morning on Monday. Hence my interest in 18" & 20" OBR barrels - I've been waiting since DEC 2012 and would hate to get screwed (by Mass) at this late date. |
|
Well, if anyone gets any info on 18" tOBR or OBR barrels please post it. I'm not to the point of clogging up email or phone lines over it yet, but I'd like to know as soon as the 18's are flowing again.

I think you mean 12? That 18" was probably from the last batch of 18" barrels, which was quite a while ago. Right now everything they seem to be making in 7.62 is 16" or 14.5". It's good to know where they sit in terms of 18" 7.62 order number though. I'm end of Jan '13, so I have quite a ways to go. Remember that the order volume really shot through the roof around 12/12. |
|
From what I have seen , the 18" barrels are in the. 80k-90k orders. My order is in the 139k range and was placed in 7/13. Still a ways from 12/13.

The OBR on Gunbroker is not recently delivered as claimed. Check out the pictures closely and look at the cable lock mechanism with the OBR - 3 digit number on the overwrap bag. Looks like 3xx. To my knowledge, That's an early number, not 2013 vintage. Larue is only shipping with standard flash hiders at this time, or at least that's how my order was filled even though I requested otherwise. Surefire muzzle break came in the swag package instead of being installed. I doubt anyone received a rifle with a JSC flash hider installed from Larue recently.

I'm 91XXX for an 18"er 7.62 tOBR ordered on 12/2012. I hope there is movement on them soon.

|
My order number is in the 805xx range for a 18" OBR ordered 12/2012. Still waiting myself and hoping the wait isn't much longer.

I think what is frustrating is that the first rifles going out we're 18" tOBRs. Then the switch to finishing out all other configs with no more word on the 18's is a bit dissapointing. Ready to see some 18" mg barrels and test targets!

I got excited seeing that they were almost at my number, cleared up my CC, and then all of a sudden they were on another batch. Update would be nice on the status of the barrels. I have a 14.5" 5.56 tOBR that I ordered a few day before my 18" 7.62 tOBR, and now it's the 16" 5.56 tOBR's going out. I sure like the wrong barrel sizes, all this waiting has my eyes wandering elsewhere |
|
yea sorry , both my order and the order on gunbroker were around 12-20-12 not 13,my gun was ordered just like the one on gunbroker and i assume it will be shipped that way.if not do they send you the extra stock and comp? guess ill have to wait and see.since my tobr is at my ffl and ill pick it up monday the wait will be a lot easier.

I'm gonna call in next week to make sure I get a SOCOM brake on mine. I'll ask about ETA then and will update.
|
|
I ordered an 18" tOBR on 12/21/12, order 87xxx, and hadn't heard a thing. Today, I called in to change it to a 16" and was asked if my CC was ready to be charged, which is what I was hoping for. For those of you that would change to a 16", you might want to call in so you can get your rifle sooner.

I'm going to post my 18 inch sometime this weekend. I'm looking for a 16inch.

Called in today. No ETA given. View Quote That is not good news. I have an 18" 7.62 OBR on order since May 2013, so I know that I am nowhere near getting it. Out of my two LT rifle orders, the 7.62 is the rifle that I really want the most. I have a 16" 5.56 OBR on order since 1/3/13 and I am nowhere near getting that one either. Everyone says that they are worth the wait, but damn!!! I guess that I will keep waiting. |

My concern is that so many have opted to switch to 16's that it won't be economically feasible to start making the 18's until last...
I'd like to see everyone with an 18" 7.62 on order to get in here and show we are still relevant. At least I hope we still are. |

I'm not switching to a 16", because I want an 18". If there is no sign of progress in the next 6 mos, I will most likely cancel and go with LMT or just get a bolt gun at around the same price. I'm sure LaRue would appreciate me clearing up their backlog.

I'm in for the Long Haul, Ordered 12/19/12. 18" TOBR or bust. I want, what I want and have no intention of settling for less, whether it is is a shorter barrel or another brand.

im also in 18" obr or bust
but i calmed my nerves a few weeks ago and had them ship me a 16" tobr.i hope the wait for the obr is not much longer but at least i have the tobr to hold at night.would have loved to pick up a 338 barrel for the tobr at the same time but guess that would have just been greedy.come in mark start taking orders for other caliber barrels----please i can see a 18" 338 in my future. pete |

I ordered my 18" tOBR Jan or Feb last year, still holding out!

We have to change the definition of 'Insanity'
Insanity - checking the 18" 7.62 barrels thread for movement, week after week. 20" 7.62 OBR 19DEC12 I would change to an 18" but not a 16", unless the 20"ers get made first. |
|
The moment of truth came and I caved. The email came in this morning saying that 7.62 16" OBR barrels were ready to go and I just couldn't resist myself. Changed my order from the 18", received the shipping label, and the lower was picked up by UPS an hour ago. At least I can start shooting all the ammo I've been buying for it over the last year and a half soon.
Oh, and to all those with an 18" OBR order number greater than 8050x... you just moved up a slot. You're welcome. |
|
I've got an 18" ordered as well, but just out of curiosity is there anything that is shipping right now? Something with a quick order and ship time or is everything behind? Probably a dumb question I know, haven't been here in awhile.

My order for a Predatar 7.62 18" , placed on 12/22/12. Fifteen months is a ridiculous wait. If it isn't here by the end of April I'm cancelling the order through the retailer. If it happens to come in, you'll see it posted for sale here and on Texas Gun Trader.
Regards, Rob Austin, Texas |

Seeing this thread pop up to the top got me hoping that there was some movement. I should have known to good to be true. Back to patiently waiting.
Order 692xx placed November 2012 18" TObr 7.62. |

There is also movement with the 5.56 TOBR's and OBR's in the same lengths mentioned above according to other threads. Don't hate on me, the wife is doing enough of that for the whole community. |
