So, I wanted to wait til I got a good amount of rounds through this thing before I posted a review.
First off, BUY THIS BARREL!!!
I wanted to build an accurate .223 rifle to make target shooting a little more affordable. I also wanted a handy 16in rifle that I could use in DM matches and shoot out to 6-800.
Here are the groups... I hand load so I really wanted the new Sierra 77 TMK to group well with this barrel. I also wanted to be able to have a cheap 55gr FMJ load that would do about 1MOA, I could shoot that to make it even more affordable...Here are the results
All groups are 5 shot at 100 yards.
55gr FMJ 25gr of TAC CCI #41 Primer
69 SMK 23.6gr of TAC CCI #41 Primer
69 SMK 24.2 of TAC CCI #41 Primer
Now the whole reason behind this build. The very high BC of the new TMK bullets, the soft recoil of the rifle gas, and the handy 16in barrel. The new TMK posted the best groups of all the weights I have shot!
77 TMK 23gr of TAC CCI #41 Primer
Its a shooter!
I have ran a C buffer and an H buffer in this rifle. Besides the very first round I chambered that did not eject. It has ate and spit out everything I have fed it. I am using an AIM surplus EXO BCG. It has ran flawlessly suppressed and unsuppressed. Little to no muzzle rise and a very smooth recoil impulse!
I highly recommend this barrel! I hope this helps anyone on the fence about these barrels.
