What the heck, we change almost every
other part, why not this one too? The new patent pending CMMG .22 Evolution jag/take-down guide rod and frame will be available on certain models of kits. Our one piece guide rod is slightly smaller for easy removal of cotter pin and takedown pin. The built is slot holds a cleaning patch for getting rid of crud in the chamber adapter. For someone who has to have every option, here you go We have had quite a few questions about the different options available with our .22 Evolution conversion. This chart shows the different models with the different options. This may change slightly as new models are added or new features become standardized. I will try to figure out how to do a spreadsheet that will have working links this next week. Sorry, my chart-fu is weak. .22 Evolution Dedicated Rifle Specs include: Mil-spec upper and lower 1/16" twist barrel WASP finish barrel 1 25 round mag with last shot bolt hold open follower Compatible with most AR15 accessories and upgrades Low profile picatinny gas block Live round extraction Lifetime warranty CMMG's new .22 Evolution dedicated rifle is for those wanting function, accuracy, versatility and affordability. Since our rifle utilizes a standard AR15 upper and lower, they may be upgraded with most standard AR15 components. In addition, all rifles will be compatible with the latest .22 Evolution upgrades to be offered later this summer. Our base rifles are no frills and cost conscience. If you are on a budget, you can now own a complete rifle for the cost others charge for a dedicated upper. Model Quebec $499.00 (NOT accepting backorders at this time) Mil-spec upper and lower 1/16" twist barrel WASP finish barrel 1 25 round mag with last shot bolt hold open follower Compatible with most AR15 accessories and upgrades Low profile picatinny gas block Live round extraction Lifetime warranty Fake Forward Assist Anti-Jam charging handle Plastic mil-spec diameter buffer tube Model Quebec-A $539.95 (Now accepting back orders––To be shipped late June) Mil-spec upper and lower 1/16" twist barrel WASP finish barrel 1 25 round mag with last shot bolt hold open follower Compatible with most AR15 accessories and upgrades Low profile picatinny gas block Live round extraction Lifetime warranty Mil-Spec Forward Assist Mil-Spec charging handle Mil-spec diameter buffer tube I know the first question will be "can we buy just the upper?" We will be offering uppers later this year. We have been testing and tweaking this lately, it's going to be a inline production change to all of our .22 kits These will be available some time in July. Lots and lots of options available.. Base left kit starts at $199.95 Check out our latest .22 Evolution upgrade, the GO/NOGO chamber adapter. Since we began producing conversions, we have always included a “do not disassemble” clause in our instructions. It is essential that the frame is straight and properly tensioned for the conversion to function properly. It doesn’t take much to affect the tension when disassembling, and without the proper tension when reassembling, multiple types of failures will result. With our new .22 Evolution line of kits, we began looking at ways to give the end user the tools to disassemble and correctly reassemble the .22 conversion anywhere. Our newest upgrade is a patent pending, built in, GO/NOGO chamber adapter gauge. With the kit fully disassembled, a properly tensioned frame will slide over the GO gauge side of the chamber adapter but will not fit over the NOGO side. If deformation has occurred, the frame may be bent back to fit the recommended tension tolerance. Once the correct dimension is confirmed, the bolt group may be reinstalled and the adapter put back on frame. Combined with our new mil-spec cotter pin and extractor pin, repairs can be done in the field quickly and effectively by the end user. Ooo-rah! GO NOGO cuts on adapter Frame shown correctly slid over GO gauge Frame shown correctly not fitting over NOGO gauge Animation Now it is possible to practice with full function controls using rimfire ammunition. The Pat Pending Bolt Hold Open Actuator is a 4 second drop-in component that bridges the gap between the standard AR15 bolt catch and the all new pat pending Bolt Hold Open Follower. With tens of thousands of .22 magazines out in circulation, CMMG has developed a drop-in retrofit follower and spring that simply replaces the standard follower and spring of the CMMG magazine. The low cost BHOA/BHOF gives total bolt catch/release function with absolutely no gunsmithing. BHOA shown in down position BHOA shown in up position BHOA consists of simple polymer housing, steel transfer bar and roll pin. Its unique ,self locating design, makes it very easy and fast to install. Once ammo is depleted, the top half of the BHOF shifts to engage BHOA transfer bar BHOF kit consists of fully assembled follower and retrofit spring. Final tooling is nearing completion. We are looking at June 1st to start pushing these out in quantity. Now it is possible to thoroughly disassemble your .22 conversion without the use of tools. CMMGs new style patent pending bolt design utilizes a standard AR15/M16 cotter pin and extractor pin. No more hammers and punches. Available soon. There will be NO additional cost. The cotter pin installs and secures the firing pin the same way as an AR15/M16. We have added a tapered spring that will not fall off of the firing pin. The steel pin installs from the bottom only. This prevents it from riding up and binding when shooting. We enlarged the extractor spring on one end to keep in captive in bolt to avoid being lost. We are pleased to announce the development of the patent pending Forward Assist Adapter/Frame. As the conversion gets dirtier, that first round can be a real issue. Instead of pushing the bolt closed with your finger or ejecting a live round, simply give the standard forward assist a push. Test Vid With the release of our dedicated .22 rifle just around the corner(details soon) we wanted to give a sneak peek at one of the features that will be included. Our new patent pending anti-jam charging handle prevents the worst types of malfunctions and make installation of action easier. A standard charging handle will allow a spent or live round to wedge its way in the channel of a standard charging handle, our new charging handle is shallow to prevent a round from getting lodged. We added of a small center fin that deflects the casing downward before it becomes pinched. This prevents a casing from getting stuck between the spring housing and charging handle. We also added a relief at the rear so charging handle may be fully closed when action is installed into upper. While this version is not for use with the drop in conversion, we will have a variation that will. Comparison between standard charging handle and new CMMG Dedicated Anti-Jam T-Handle Small Fin in center prevents spent case from being pinched between spring housing and charging handle What it does.... We have been looking at ways to keep the .22 drop-in conversion from moving during firing. By eliminating play, the position of the chamber in relation to the magazine stays constant, which results in more reliable feeding. To make this possible, we secured a brass bolt head to the chamber adapter that engages and locks into the barrel extension, along with either our mag stabilizer insert(MSI), or BHOA. Together, the chamber insert is locked into the chamber and the magazine is secured in the mag well. Installation... The drop in .22 conversion is installed the same as the standard version. The only difference is the engagement tab must be oriented to let the locking lugs pass between the extension lugs. Once fully seated the tab is rotated to the 6 o'clock position. With the BHOA or MSI in place the upper is closed, the tab engages a cutout in the BHOA or MSI preventing rotation of locking component. The giveaway will be based on what we name it when delivery starts. This will likely be July. Not to worry, it will be worth the wait. There will be lots and lots of upgrades and add ons. Patent Pending |

I was about to order the current version. I will be waiting for this. Very cool.

Question: Once the hold open is available, will new conv kits (like the cotter pin style bolt assembly) come with mags that have the upgraded springs and followers for the hold open? or will the mags still be seperate upgrade?
I ask because, i don't currently have a conv kit. As soon as these new gizmos are ready, i will order a conv kit (cotter pin style), forward assist and hold open all at once. Will i need to buy mag upgrade kits? |

July looks to be the release month on a lot of this stuff. We will keep everyone informed

Thanks. I've been running the conversions starting with Ciener for the last few years, then tried Spikes and now have your stainless version which runs great. You've taken the conversion way above the next level. Great innovative ideas. I really look forward to trying it out.

I like the locking lever. Will you make it possible to retrofit it to your other kits and ceiners? Thanks.

|
Just curious. Are you thinking of adding a couple o-rings to the chamber insert to assist in centering? I'm machining a couple in my old ceiner to test it out. Unlike the spikes kit I'm putting both of mine behind the "shoulder" of the insert where metal is thickest and least likely to break (one in front of the cartridge "base" and one just behind the shoulder). I don't know what your bore ID is but I'm also opening up the insert's bore to .2245 to eliminate the swaging down of the .22 bullet just before it hits the rifling and then re-expands to engage the .224 barrel bore.
Maybe this has already been tried and dismissed but it seems logical to me to help accuracy. How about Lug Stabilization Device (LSD) for your chamber lug locker (or CLL). Keep up the great innovations. I'm looking forward to getting a few of these much improved kits for my kid's AR's. |
|
Before we added the brass lug we had a two part gasket system we were testing. One was at the front and one at the rear. We may still go ahead and do something with it down the road. It has just taken a back burner to some of the other things we are doing.

awesome products guys!
looking forward to geting my hands on a few items to play with! |
|
will the new forward assist, bolt catch assist and so on work with FA parts or will the FA parts be in the way of the bolt catch?
|
|
Our kit is not compatible with ceiners FA trip. We will be producing a full auto trip that be compatible with all of our .22 Evolution components.
|
|
all these upgrades need to come out at the same to so we can save on shipping!
|
|
No such luck. We have already made a couple revisions to a couple that will inevitably delay things. Sorry
|
|
These look really good, do you ship to Europe, or do you have a dealer in Europe?
|
|
I really like what you guys are doing to make weapon manipulation with the 22 conversion the same as with a standard AR.
Simply superb. My only complaint about my current kit is the inability to extract unfired rounds. From your chart it looks like you are addressing this. Hopefully any upgrades to the extractor will be compatible with existing kits. I will be buying a bolt hold open and forward assist. |

These upgrades look great. I hope many are compatible with the old dedicated uppers.

Was about to order a conversion kit, guess I'll hold off until the new ones are out.

What's the story on the Tango upper listed on the chart? That's what I'm interested in.

What's the story on the Tango upper listed on the chart? That's what I'm interested in. It will have all the upgrades we can pile on. We will be running a Lothario walther math grade barrel. The locking mechanism will be similar the the drop in version we have released. This is the most significant aspect when it comes to ensuring accuracy. I will get some more details when I get to a computer. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Have any $$$ amt. for the uppers. (Tango)
Can we do some changes on the Tango like : Have an m4 profile barrel (Lothar Walther) with Magpul Moe handguards? I know, should have a free float handguard to get best accuracy, I just like the m4 profile. |
|
The Sierra upper will be $349. The Tango upper will based on the costs of the additional upgrades. I won't be able to give a good guestimate for another month or so when we nail down the pricing structure of the upgrades.

Thanks for the info.
Also whoever is coming up with these new products, Do not fire him/her/them, give them a raise and a bonus! Got some great ideas, keep up the good work! |

Keepem coming.....
But do leave a window open so I can toss my $$$ in, money is starting to fall out of the hole in my pocket. |

can I add any of these parts to my spikes kit, the locking lug and live round extractor. Also the bolt hold open?

I've been watching these new products develop as closely as everyone else has.
You've got this industry standing on it's head waiting to see all of these amazing new products in action, in person. I can see where your forward assist will come in very handy, especially with some of the sticky lubricated target ammo I've used in my testing. It appears that you have come up with a perfect design for the bolt hold open, working with a standard AR-BHO, very nice and a new follower, spring that can upgrade existing magazines. I don't fully understand the concept of your locking lug setup but believe you've made a good choice in the material to make it, Brass I believe? The videos are a nice touch, it appears that everything works perfectly together. Did you mention a Lothar Walther Barrel, that should provide extreme accuracy. If I've missed anything, It's just that there's so much that's new. I knew when you first made announcements that new things were coming, the rimfire section was doomed to be slow for some time to come. I wasn't wrong, everyone is just hanging loose until your new products are released. Most of the activity has stopped there. The only thread that's been really active is my sticky'd thread. no questions, just people reading. I'm actually getting other things done unrelated to firearms. Both of my motorcycles actually run right now and I'm taking time to get reacquainted with people that will be at my High Schools 40th Reunion. Thanks for the break. Dave |

John?,
I've tried to contact you a number of times via IM, E-Mail and Phone and never gotten a response. You should have my contact info from the past, since I don't seem to be able to get it to you this time. I'd put it here but my cell phone would probably never stop ringing. Dave |

John, I was going over your information on the Evolution again. You must have put in an amazing amount of time doing R&D on these. The major changes are truly revolutionary to the standard design. The chamber lock, bolt hold open, and the forward assist(Great for Bulk Pack) are additions that were hoped for but out of reach until now.
You have not only addressed the short comings of the original (though mine has always run) but took it to a whole new level in design. The not so major tweaks such as the Go/NoGo, cotter pin for the firing pin and the tooless removable extractor pin are very nice additions. I like the recoil rod/cleaning rod. It just shows me the amount of thought you have put into this product. The complete rifles will set an industry standard. A complete dedicated rifle with correct mil-spec upper and lower receiver at the price of most current dedicated uppers. What a deal! The Quebec will be real nice, having all the new up grades. Like my buddy Dave said, the .22 guys are on standby, waiting for the Evolution to be released. Thank you for the interest in providing us with much needed up grades and then some. Dave |

Is CMMG planning on selling the kits, or some of the kits, as uppers only? Im still confused as of how the Evo kits will be sold.
