I was sitting on a chair. rifle on my lap. muzzle facing left. handgrip on right thigh, bottom towards my torso. *rifle unloaded and checked twice* stock hanging freely off of right leg. I bent over slightly, resting part of my right elbow and backside of forearm on upper receiver. right hand with a weak hold on the front sight tower. left hand with wrench and phantom. turning clockwise with left arm to 'seat' the 5C2 and stopping every few seconds to check alignment. Finally, SNAP!
I shattered my pre-order smooth body. front strap and backstrap fell away nicely and battery compartment suffered no ill effects.
The phantom had already been installed on this barrel. I didn't think it would take much torque since it should align very easily- if i had i wouldn't have tried it on my lap. i really think it's a freak accident. I will get you a picture later this evening so you can see exactly where exactly the cracks and breaks occurred. :L
