New Magpul Daka grid system.  Neat concept, but turrets keep the case lid from closing.

I like the idea, but I think cut foam offers better protection unless all of the empty spaces are filled with the Legos.

You're right, definitely needed clarification.  It is pushing the lid up when closed, to the point where I'd be worried the seals are compromised, turrets would take a hard impact on the lid side, and I would never check this setup on any plane.

Rem 700 Varmint Synthetic .308. Bought new in 96 for $500. Cut the barrel down to 22" and threaded about 4 years ago. Added the Magpul mag well at the same time. Scope is a Zeiss V4 4x16x44.

Bought this Remington 700 ADL 308 varmint at dicks around 2010 before they went all stupid.
Sold to my boss the next year. Got an itch and bought back from same boss.

Project gun
Got oryx chassis today
Night force rail is enroute as is the scope, pst gen2 5-25

Depending on how she shoots I'll either thread this year or swap barrels next year or so.
Modded the factory trigger to ~3.5#, safest I felt the xmark could go.

To still buy:
Rings ASAP
Trigger this year.

Side panels look blue but are grey.

I spent the last week putting a new rifle together for myself and shot it for the first time tonight . Also the first time spinning up a Bartlein blank and man it's going be a shooter !
The target is the first six rounds fired using a load from my old rifle.

Ultimatum Deadline Gen 2 Action.
IBI 1-7.5” twist 24” spiral fluted barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor.
MDT ACC chassis
Trigger Tech Diamond 2 stage
Tangent Theta TT525P
Accu-Tac ARCA bipod.

Shot it out to 1,000y last Friday at Dead Zero Shooting Park.

I was shooting hand loaded ammo out to 600Y.
I was at 0.2MOA after 4 shots at 600y but of course I screwed it up on the 5th shot.

At 1,000y I shot factory 147gr ELD Hornady Match and shot right around .6 MOA.

2nd time out with my Origin with the 6arc barrel installed.

Load development was ridiculously easy…

3 foulers since I cleaned it after the first trip, then off to testing 4 different loads.

222 Remington on an FN Mauser action.

As it sits, I have very little $$ in this rifle, very littel.
Most of the actions in this thread cost more than I have in this entire rifle.
Though it is probably not "tactical" enough for this thread.

Stock and action were bought as a complete 6.5x300Wby bench rifle.
It was not the factory single shot FN action I had hoped, so I sold the barrel and bolt on eBay, got my money back.
Action is interesting (to me) and heavily modified below the wood line with accuracy in mind.

Bolt is a factory FN .222 bolt which is stupid rare. Picked it up for lowball bid at an online auction.
They didn't show the bolt face and I didn't know what it was until is showed up.

Barrel is unknown maker from a large (100+) barrel lot purchased at a dead gunsmith auction. (If it shoots, I have its twin.)

Suppressor is an off brand from an out of business manufacturer. Low ball bid at their bankruptcy auction.

Japanese Tasco 8x-32x w/ 1/8th minute dot.
These scopes are amazing values & sleepers. When the Japanese made versions show up, I snag them. I had to take this one out of its original box.....

Machine work and barrel were part of a trade with a local gunsmith. For a complete commercial Mauser action he barreled four actions including this one.
