the bull

here is my CUCV on 37's

Here is our camp with the old timer coming out.
Got this elk opening morning at about 120 yards. Shot high on the shoulder first and gave him a second before he fell lower behind the shoulder only went about 10 steps from first shot. 110 grain pro hunters from SSA. Had to pack him about 2 miles from the bottom of the hole you can kinda see from the truck. He is not huge but really happy for the first bull with the 6.8.

That is fantastic! I plan on putting a 6.8 together over the winter. Please give us the details with regard to the bullets you were using.

I use SSA factory loads in the 110 sierra pro hunter flavor. Upper is a midlength crome lined spec II RRa barrel, YHM FF forearm, I think a RRA upper(gotta look) LMT semi carrier, and a RRA bolt. Got a PRI big latch and a cheapy b-square scope mount with a 3x9 burris fulfeild 2. Hunting area was in the ruby valley side of the Gravely Mts.
