I have tried to ask these questions to the people that are hiring me but have not gotten much back in answers.
1. What is the day to day job like? Is it mostly guard duty or will I be doing real police work?
2. Uniforms do they where something other then BDU's?
3. What are the hours like and how is the OT?
4. Do they like to send people to training?
Just start with these questions first thanks.

You might look into Railroad Police too. I believe they want you to go to a state academy but when you are hired by the Railroad you are considered a federal police officer with nationwide jurisdiction because you authority comes from the NTSB...

I've been looking at getting into railroad officer since 2008. It's not an easy job to get and it's a really sweet job if you do get it.

Depends what base you're talking about. At Dover, the DAF officers are usually on patrol, and they get law enforcement related training opportunities like traffic investigator. Not sure about OT though.

Thanks I'm going to be at the Air Force base in Del Rio Texas. Closest base to where I live right now.
