That is perfect "gun shop navy seal" bait.
I am sure eventually, someone will tell you that they have heard of that before. Pretty neat though. |

Your rifling would last about 5 shots, just in time for you to get it sighted in

This made more questions than jokes... what if it worked well!?
Also, it needs a few more necks .............../ ..............|..| ..............|..| .........../........ ....../.................. ......|..................| ......|..................| ......|..................| ......|..................| ......<.................> |

Isn't that the round shuttle door gunners use?!?
ETA-Beaten to the door gunner joke. |
|
Lulz..
Only 7500 FPS??? I have a big ranch- does that come in a +P loading or magnum load??? |
|
I bet that would fire on the primer alone and actually be functional, without having to worry about pressure spikes and such.

Back in '91we used that same round to make headshots on Iraqi Republican Guards from 5 miles away. You know us Special Forces dudes had the black ops ammo back then that's just becoming available to the general public right now...

I once set a 50BMG bullet in a 50AE case. Not quite as extreme, but its always fun to screw with people.

Wonder what the muzzle velocity would be and how far that little thing would fly with that much motivation behind it.
|

We use to shoot those in The Nam all the time.
Had a toy company make them for us |
|
That is awesome!
And I just learned a new favorite phrase: space shuttle door gunner. LOL |

Come on, EVERYONE knows that REAL operators use the 6.8 Xpress.

"best of all, it tumbles through the air causing awesome loop-de-loop wounds in the body. better to wound one so two of his buddies have to cart him off to an aid station than to kill him outright, right? ..."

Are you somehow the product of a long ago and long forgotten Piccolo one night stand?
You "work" is devilishly good. |

I like it.
If I am not mistaken...didn't JD Jones neck down a .50 BMG case to a .22 back in the 70's? I think it was called the "Earscplittenloudenboomer", although I may be mistaken. IF I recall correctly, they had trouble getting over 5200 fps with it, which has been done with the .22-.243 Middlestead. ETA: It was P.O. Ackley that made the .22 Eargesplitten Loudenboomer, and it was a .378 Weatherby Mag case necked down to .22. |
|
I tell you what...
If a .50 BMG can shoot down Planes, you can probably use that to snipe at combatants on the Moon....... |
|
ill give you a dollar to fill that case with powder and prime it up and shoot that round out the barrel. you must videotape and have someone post the results here.

You have one to? I thought I had the only one in existence. I killed an Elephant with one in africa years ago.

whos the maker of that 50 conversion? It is a Ferett 50 upper with a 36" barrel |

"Authorities have noticed an increase in high-caliber weapons in Los Angeles. One of the most startling incidents was when a Fabrique National 57, an assault pistol used to kill big game, was found in a victim's car by detectives investigating a double-homicide last year in North Hollywood.
"You use it on large lions, tigers and bears," said LAPD Deputy Chief Michel Moore, commander of the Valley Bureau." The NEW 5.7 Xpress. LAPD certified for xtreme lions, xtreme tigers, and xtreme bears. |

I would love to be there when the first idiot starts in on how he's had one for years.

Nobody is going to believe that huge case fires a 5.7mm bullet. You need to put it in a .30 cal sabot.... :)
