No strings attached.
Just click the link, choose your magazine and Voila! Free One Year NRA Membership ETA: There has been some confusion on whether or not this is "free". It is 100% free, you need not buy anything or give them any CC info. Chose the option near the arrow in the pic below. |

where does it say free? right on the website "To take a stand for the defense of firearms freedoms and accept the offer of a one-year NRA gift membership, please enter your information below and choose one of NRA's award-winning magazines." |

Very cool, already a life member though. Signing up my fiancee.

Quoted: is there a catch? or are they just looking for new members to boost their numbers?So.....what's the catch? |
|
I hope there's no catch. I just signed up the wife. I'm already a member.

So.....what's the catch? I'm guessing trying to boost their numbers. |

So.....what's the catch? This is most likely the case. |

interesting. its a good tactic to help boost numbers. plus a certain % of those members will probably renew.

So.....what's the catch? The catch is more junk mail and email than you've ever gotten from any other source. Same as a paid membership. There are a lot of special offers associated with a membership. Not saying it isn't worth it in the long run, I'm still a member. American Rifleman for me. |

Quoted: Is that the real site or a phishing site? It's the NRA's news site, I think. |

I'm already a member, and don't get the junk mail. Don't want it? Call them. |

Does anyone know how to get the NRA to stop telemarketing my house?

Nice. I'm a Lifer but I know many people who would partake in a free 1 yr membership, thanks for the link.

This is tripping my BS detector. NRAHQ.org seems to be the real site, I'm having my doubts...

Well I just became a member. I was going to become a lifetime member after I graduated anyways. I also sent the link to my girlfriend and several of my buddies. I expect that will get them another four members.

Just became a member. Thanks for the link OP.
ETA Hope I wasn't just the 1,000,000th customer and won a trip to BFE. Where did you get this offer OP? |

Does anyone know how to get the NRA to stop telemarketing my house? Just call them up and ask. They will direct your call to the proper person , and you stop getting about 75% of the trash mail. I did it a year or so ago. |

Found it on another website, I was very surprised when I did a search that no one had posted it yet. FWIW, AVG did a scan of the page and it comes up legit. |

I keep getting an error
I can see why they are doing this, good plan on their part |

Unable to process your request at this time - No Control Record present

I think the link has been arfcommed. Kind of like the fark and slashdot effect.
It worked for me, but now it times out or gives an error when I try to do compass's account. |

May I suggest that, if you take advantage of the free magazine, at least send a few bucks the NRA's way when you get a chance. I think this offer is great for recruiting new members that might not have considered joining the NRA before. However, anyone on this website should already know better and donating $5 or $10 is not a big deal compared to the cost of a mag of .223.

i love how people always freak out thinking this stuff is a scam. there is a lot of paranoid people on this site.

Looking at the other posts along with your info it seems to be legit. Thanks again and if I get any info back I'll get you guys some feedback.

Indeed, I'm choosing no mag for the kids since my wife and I already get two of them. |
