just received a press release from FNH-USA announcing the introduction of semi auto SCARs in both 5.56 and 7.62x51 for 2009.
Could be soon! waiting to hear back on when they plan on having them available and price. ETA they said they plan on having them available Dec 15th still waiting on price...... 7.62 early 2009 I have shot both models quite a bit and they are very rugged and impressive. If they come out before the ACR, Bushmaster will lose a lot of sales...... ETA pricing available Wed.....hmmm, they are waiting til after the election...... |

When can we preorder? This is something I'll get the CC out for.

Word is there will be approx. 100 SCAR-L rifles shipped late (probably December) 2008 with the full release in 2009. SCAR-H rifles will ship sometime in early 2009.

I must be the only one on this forum that thinks that rifle is hideous looking.

That rifle is fugly! The front sight is crazy tall as well and looks fragile.

I must be the only one on this forum that thinks that rifle is hideous looking. Only the civi version with the short forend and 16" barrel. That does make it look pretty fruity. Everything else on the rifle looks good and totally functional. |

awesome awesome awesome
got to handle one pretty extensively. Good gear I will take 1 each. Thanks |

We're getting that gun on our HH60's to replace the GAU18 (M2). I can't wait... ~Dg84 |

I was indifferent about the rifle until I had the chance to play with its guts and run it. I think it has a lot of promise. Even on full auto in the 11 inch version it's very controllable. |

Why does it fold right?
It would make sense for a rifle to fire open or closed. |

All you guys who buy your combat rifles based on looks can go buy something pretty I guess. HK keeps trying to sell the pentagon on a pretty looking gun called the XM8, but the military would rather have something that works.
Make mine a SCAR-H. skebe–– the stock is folding and collapsible and has an adjustable comb height. From the factory. But its ugly, apparently, according to the arfcom crew who greatly prefer the looks of their collapsible AR stocks. |

If it does what SOCOM wants, it will be the premier small arm of the world for decades to come.

a lightweight .308, thats what I like.
Maybe sometime in this century Keltec will release their RFB |

Sorry it was a bad joke on the Bushmaster ACR/MASADA that was supposed to come with a folding stock until they decided to make that an "option". =) |

Why does it fold right? It would make sense for a rifle to fire open or closed. The stock being folded does not interfere with the function of the rifle. The downward slope the stock has when folded is done specifically to allow for full function with the stock in a folded state. |

But hey, I guess I'm an idiot for having an opinion. |

Its not another fucking package deal where you have to buy 5 guns is it?

Nice! No more headspace issues? Meh, headspacing is really no big deal. It's the fact that the Air Force took the M2, a tried and tested platform that works, and tried to put an electric solenoid on the back so the HH60 can do fixed forward fire. Thus turning their rescue bird into an attack platform. A completely retarded concept taught by our weapons school. But that's a completely different thread. What they did is make the weapon such an abortion that the end user can no longer time it in flight. So, if my weapon fucks up... I'm done. This M3 is going to be kick ass... 1100-1300 RPM and fires from an open bolt. ~Dg84 |
