It was over in Magnolia, for you Houstonians out there. I brought my PSS .308 and my M38 Mauser in 6.5 Swede. I kept trying to take shots at the "running deer" target at 100 yards with my two rifles, but the Swede isn't scoped and I was leading the target too much. The PSS weighs too much (for me, I'm kinda small) to shoot while standing. So, I ended up doing absolutely crappy with the two. I thought my day was ruined until an event coordinator let me shoot his Rem. 700 in 6mm. The thing was light as a feather. I get three shots, and the second one sent the scope into my forehead, giving me a nice gash. I managed to get off the third shot and win the round out of 14 other shooters. So I guess the gash was worth it. For my efforts, I got a 12lb turkey! Woohoo! Do all 6mm's have that much recoil? I really thought that rifle would be like a toy after shooting my 308 and 6.5x55. Of course it didn't help that the guy keeps the scope too close to the comb...
Anyway, blood and all it was a good day. [bouce]
