I'll never forget the time I called into WBUR's "The Connection", a VERY liberal public radio talk show w/call-in, broadcasting from the People's Republic Of Cambridge, MA, right after Columbine in 1999.
(Anybody remember Columbine, another Criminal Safe Zone a la our airliners?)
I managed to get past their screeners by saying I was going to call about being a parent,a former teacher, etc., so the girl on the other end who spoke in grad student Sunbelt speak, said, "Oh, sure, like, that's really relevant., sure, I'll put you on."
I got on there, and proceeded to tell them about how American schools, poor upbringing by selfish yuppies and moral relativism had contributed to the slaughter and how the liberals were going to employ this as one more bloody shirt to wave at the scared American public in order to continue taking away the right to defend ourselves against rapists, dirtbags and creeps.
The gasps I heard from the tweedy panel of academics and lib thinktank types was audible. You'd think someone had just crapped in their living room on their coffee table book of Robert Mapplethorpe photos. :^)
I was cut off (the mute button, I'm sure...) and the speakers... when they recovered, stammered their way through, "too many guns on the street" "15 kids a day killed BY guns" , bla bla bla...well-programmed....
I later called them up and thanked them for their Stalinist censorship, and said they'd never get a dime of contributions from me again in their pledge drives... then they hung up.
