About six moths ago I purchased a Bulgarian Makarov for $129 from a Seattle
gun shop. I went to the range and the gun turned out to be a jamomatic so I
striped and cleaned it again to no avail. I took it back to the gun shop
explained what was happening and they said they would look at it. A week
later I got it back with the same problem, I tried different ammo, bought 4
new mags and the thing would still either stove pipe or fail to go
completely into battery.
I brought it back for the second time and after some weeks was told it was
fixed. I didn't get a chance to shoot it for a couple of months and when I
did, I still had a single shot Mak! Back to the store for the third time,
now they said they would send it back to SOG for repair and they didn't know
how long that would take. After six weeks, I called the store about the
status the Mak and was told that they haven't heard a thing from SOG on the
repair. I called SOG and they said that they do not "repair" any guns, they
only replace them and they just shipped the replacement out to the dealer
and it would arrive the next day in Seattle. Back to store to pick up my
Mak and come to find out that SOG shipped the original gun back to the
dealer!
The situation now is the gun was again shipped back to SOG, the dealer's
account has been credited with his original $90 purchase price, the dealer
has $142 of my money, SOG has no Makarov's in stock to replace mine, more
are on order but they don't know when they'll get them. So my question is
just who should I go after and what would be the reasonable thing for me to
do at this point? This has dragged on far too long and needs to be
resolved.
