The SSG series was Steyr's Police/Tactical line and there was also the SSG "pro hunter" with or with out polymer stocks. Some had rifle rights, and set triggers, some did not.
Steyr changed from the SSG to the SBS or Safe Bolt System in the late 90's.
As other have said other than the AUG Steyr has not made a semi auto rifle. HK did make a fine line of european style semi auto hunting rifles.
HK 270 .22lr
HK 300 .22 mag
HK 630 .223
HK 770 .308
HK 940 30' 06
HK stopped making these fine rifles in the mid 1980's. I have the whole line minus the HK 300 and IMO they are the best semi auto hunting rifles on the market. All had good triggers and 10 shot mags.
To this day the HK rifles are better than any Remington or Browning semi auto hunting rifle.
And in 1999 HK updated their semi auto hunting rifles with the SLB2000 in 30' 06 but discontinued it in 2000
