Mine likes Hirtenburger. I haven't tried anything else. It is my understanding that with the adjustable gas system that the FAL can be adjusted so that a wide range of .308 will function.

The beauty of the FAL adjustable gas system, is that it enables that rifle to eat anything you stuff in it. Mine does well with Federal Match 168gr HP. Usually I shoot the readily available inexpensive milsurp. Argentine, British Radway Green, Portuguese, Hert. all work well, the Port. is said by many to be the most consistent. Check out FNFAL.com

I've got the DSA scope mount - locks on tight with a bunch of screws and doesn't move.
My DSA STG-58 came with the military issue bipod that works real fine and folds up out of the way. It makes for a nice forward grip after a hundred rounds or so as the handguards heat up beyond holding. My rifle eats anything I've fed it. With the adjustable gas system changes take but a second or two. Wouldn't waste the money on match ammo at $20 a box. Get my 7.62 NATO by the military surplus box. The humpback stocks let you get a bit lower behind the iron sights. I like the stock stocks as they fit my face fine and allow me to use the higher mounted scope a bit easier. I have found 1000rd of 308 for $89 that is slightly tarnished and for $105 1000rd of ball both are U.S. and Israeli made during the mid 70's and 80's 147gr BT bullets. I'm trying to find out how much shipping is right now and I'll post it when I get it.

Hirt, Radway Green, Malaysian and Winchester soft points have all cycled well through a buddy's STG that I've used.

I've used Radway Green and the 308 stuff from Sportsmans guide. I think it is Portuguese, not sure. Both work great.

Anyone use a Tapco mount for there rifle? How well does it work. Last what is the best price you have seen for an STG58 mine is $479 with 2 mags.
