The A10 is my favorite airplane. mainly because i can get my multi-license and fly it
others i think are gracefull designs. P-38 P-51 F-16 and the navy twin radial that is used to deliver personel to their carriers..cant think of its designation right now,,, but i want one |

I think the designers of the P51 had it in their minds to assist the pilots in getting laid as much as possible. It is definitely the "sexiest" designed airplane of all time.
Here are my favorites (also in no particular order): B17 B25 B24 A4 Skyhawk F4 P47D P38 P40 F15 F16 F4F F6F SBD Dauntless TBF Avenger F4U A7 Hawker Hurricane Supermarine Spitfire DeHaviland Mosquito Hawker Typhoon Bristol Beaufighter Bf109 Fw190 Me262 Ju88 Ju87 A6M2 Zero |

Personally, I think theres something extra cool about the A-10 Warthog.... it makes me all warm & fuzzy all over.

The coolest? Probably the WWII Heinkel "Uhu". It was a night interceptor for bombers that was the first airplane with radar on board. The test mule shot down seven B-17's over Germany on it's first night out and was put in production despite that it had a jammed flap and crashed after finishing the mission.

Oh Yeah! Anyone have a pic of the B-25 Mitchell that was used in the South Pacific as a gun platform? It was used to shoot up troop transports and small armored ships. It had a shitload of forward firing .50s in the nose and I think even a 75 mm cannon. From what I have read, it was bad ass. When all guns were firing forward, air speed would drop to the point that it felt as if the craft was standing still in air. SM |
