We all know that the world puts less importance on our Dads and more on our Mothers.  Lets correct this with a tribute to the Dads of AR15.com.  Let's show off our Dad's and give them the credit they are due.

The taught us right from wrong, showed us how to shoot, and throw a football.  When we got in fights they acted mad in front of Mom, but asked us how the other guy looked when she was away.  They explained why the right is good, and why the left are pansies.  They are responsible for the men we have become today.

Who are these great American men?  Why, they are the Fathers of ar15.com.

No matter how much you appreciate your father, it isn't enough.  I have been fatherless since Christmas Day '70.  I was 15 and Dad was 53.  Not a day goes that he doesn't cross my mind.  Same goes for your mom.  Lost mine in '75.  Though I take some measure of self-satisfaction in having been on my own since I was 19, I gladly would have traded a measure of  full independence for the counsel of good parents.

I somewhat understand. Never met my dad, who died in 1991 and now it's too late. My mom and I didn't speak for a few years either.

Uh, yup!

Always wondered why Dad had a little grin on his face during those MASH episodes where Hawk and the boys go to Tokyo on leave.

When he showed me this pic last year, the first words out of my mouth were, "Me love you long time, Joe".  LOL!

My guess is that is the before pic.

The after pic when BayEagle Sr. was done looks a little different.

I never asked him, but I'd guess "before".  They both look remarkably unmussed.  BTW- check out the reach-around my old man is putting on ol' Geisha babe.  Looks like the Richie Cunningham technique on copping a feel.

You gotta figure, that was almost 20 years before they got married.  She thinks it's pretty funny.  Judging by comments, I think there are pictures worse than that from his time in Occupied Japan.

My dad never served, his own father died when he was but 12. So back in those days(Mexico) he had to drop out of school and work to support his family. Eventually he made his way to the good ole USA and after a few years sent for his young bride(my mom) and a few years later I was born in California.

I appreciate seeing all the pics of your dads, and I deeply appreciate their service to our country and making it posible for me and my family to live in freedom,  thanks to wedge1082 for this thread.

Thank you so very much BD66. He's in France right now, so when he gets back I will thank him for you. BTW, from what he tells me France is alot like California; the major cities are home to the cheese eating surrender monkeys while the rest of the country is populated by normal people that like the US and appreciate what we did for them and the world.

My Dad died in 1995 at the age of 85. He was drafted at the age of 31 in March of 1942 and served with the 3d ID in "Operation Torch" the invasion of North Africa Nov 1942. He won the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star with "V" . We never told war stories to each other but he defended the hell out of me at the VFW when I came home. I sure do miss him...
