For several decades all kinds of pills were taken recreationally without any measurable danger of overdose or having been laced with something else.
Mexican racing pills, "Bennies", Black Molly's for staying and cramming for finals Lude 714's (edited for accuracy since it's been 50 years since I took one) for blues concerts Reds, "Seconal" for mellowing out Christmas Trees for amping up Generally, uppers and downers Ecstasy was a decade later in the '80's so I missed it. But a young, local girl took a pill a few days ago and now she's dead. It was "laced" (contained Fentaynl in some shape, form, or fashion - edited for the GD lint pickers). And she wasn't a hardcore druggie, just a kid who took a pill. We never had to worry about that crap  |

No. I have never done recreational drugs. No desire to then and certainly not now. Maybe don't do drugs to lesson the risk of OD?

While I knew PLENTY of people who smoked pot, ate gummies, dropped acid, or took ex, I never knew anyone who took other "pills". I thought that was just in the movies. |

During football season I was in the hospital on a Texas Friday night, and shared a room with a young, countyboy who'd had shoulder surgery.
After the shot and pills hit him he started talkin'bout JESUS. I'll never forget it. That's AMERICA right there.

I have when I was a teen.
But nowadays anyone not paying attention to the fent crisis is trying to keep their head buried in the sand. Everyone has heard the headlines and listened to an artist who OD'd on some fake percs or Xanax. At this point if you do drugs and buy a "perc30" then you are trying to buy fent or you want to die |

I used to love vicodin and a couple beers, made me feel absolutely hammered and I wouldn't be hungover the next morning.
I know there were adulterated pills back then but not like there are today it seems. Luckily that was a passing phase of my life. There is no way I'd even think of mixing pills and booze these days, much less pills from a drug dealer. |

No. Boring growing up in Latrobe PA. Alcohol was the thing.
That said, in nuclear power school me and my roommate got wisdom teeth removed at the same time. Both received Percocet. He stopped taking his before he ran out so he gave them to me and I got a few more days of being high.

Nobody buys pills that are "laced" with fentanyl anymore. They buy fentanyl, period. And they know damned well they're buying fentanyl. It's not an accidental ingestion; it's intentional.

Just my Rx meds for BP, ED, knee pains/arthritis, and a muscle relaxer as needed.
Oh, and vitamin and mineral supplements. Other than that, nope. I don’t take anything. Go watch Contraband: Seized at the Border on Discovery. Amazing how many people bring back cheap meds from Mexico that are not what they think they are. Any Rx narcotic is usually Fentanyl. |

I think a big part of the big problem is dealers are grinding up prescription pills, mixing in fentanyl, then repressing them to look exactly like a prescription pill so a kid thinking they bought some Prescription Vicodin or Percocet has no idea it’s been laced and repressed.
Back in the day when dealers pressed drugs like ecstasy, they just looked like a generic pill or they used some design as part of the press to make them stand out, like a little teddy bear or a bow or something else to make them stand out. They do the same when LSD is sold on blotter (paper) there’s a design on the blotter like Daffy Ducks or Buddas so you know (by its reputation) if you’re getting good stuff. I guess the most pop-culture reference to that would be the loudspeaker announcements from the original Woodstock warning people not to take the brown acid. They were referring to the color of the blotter. They were still cutting other drugs into ecstasy back then, but it was usually laxative or aspirin or something similar to maximize profit. It was even common to cut it with a little heroine, but I never knew of anybody who OD’d from it. Kids are curious. They experiment. China is intentionally flooding our country with fentanyl to kill our kids and wreak havoc on our society. It really sucks. Young adults like to experiment, but wanting to take a Percocet shouldn’t be a death sentence.  WOODSTOCK brown acid announcement |

My high school / formative years were spent living in Singapore where you simply do not mess with anything unless you wanted a noose around your neck (19 year old French girl was hanged while I was there).
As such, no, I take vitamin-c when I remember but no illicit narcotics, -have never tried it. |

I have been all around , from my dad alway's telling funny stories about qualudes , to my mom dying in 2005 from liver failure due to heroin and alcohol, and meeting my younger half sister at her funeral, she was 29 and overdosed on oxycodone and fentanyl.
I faced my own demons when my dad died on thanksgiving day 09. I pulled myself out of it, but due to multiple health issues, i take way more legally prescribed “fun” pills ow than ever. |

Toxicology test results take weeks. OP says the girl took a pill a few days ago. How do they know it was fentanyl? MDMA will show a false positive on fentanyl test strips. Molly and Extasy (MDMA) are common on the club and EDM scene.
There has always been bad stuff out there. The thing with pills has always the user never really knew what they were getting or in what concentration. I've known people who over dosed on pills going back to the 80's. I've seen it before. It is difficult for people to wrap their minds around a nice suburban white girl overdosing on a party drug. "It must have been laced with fentanyl." Tragic. |

my dad had some sort of surgery back in the late 70’s and had some pain killers
being 15ish or so I nipped one and took it worst stomach cramps I ever experienced to that date never had any desire afterwards to mess around with pills I was cured |

Never took any of those, or any other type pills. Well, I took caffeine pills for finals. No-doze. Now I take cholesterol and thyroid pills. Some kids might have been curious about those pills you listed and wanna try them our but I was scared shitless of those things. I’ve never seen people do them, cocaine, heroin, or hung around people that did that shit. For some, it’s probably fun and exciting, it’s just not my thing. Yall can have my share.
