It’s a 2020 truck and all I’ve ever used the winch for was pulling a fallen tree out of the trail once.

Get out their and practice different scenarios...no different than range time.

Go get your buddies truck stuck, then use yours to recover. I use mine to recover other vehicles far more than anything else. I'm sure you can think of creative ways to recover your own truck.
I also used it to pull a dead truck up onto a trailer that was hitched to another truck. It was kind of a 3 truck circus in the middle of town, but we got the job done. Is it a power wagon? Of all the options on my power wagon, the winch is the one thing I wouldn't live without again. It's incredible. |
|
I used mine to bend a piece of 2"x6" tubing I needed for the front of a trailer I built. Sucked it right in place it did. Used it to pull my JonBoat out of our lake. Downed trees are a regular event around here. I drag pallets etc. on a trailer with it all the time.

Standing up a play set that blows over whenever the wind gets over 40 mph
Fixed that with some 4x4s and concrete after the third or fourth time. |
|
Back in my teens whoever passed out first got hung upside down from a tree by their ankles.
|
|
Last two times I used mine was to pull trees out from where I cut them down.
|
|
A couple tree saver straps a snatch block and a zip line trolly, climbing/safety harness or you can just use a length of rope with a loop to put your foot in.
|
|
You can shoot a deer and drag it up over a tree branch to gut it without any effort. Then slowly drop it into your buddies truck.

We use ours for lots of things..work great for butchering moose and caribou...
Here's a moose on the front..... Attached File And a caribou on the back.... Attached File |

Go play in some mud, you’ll figure out a use eventually. Attached File

|
Tear down a rickety shed, pull down dead trees, move an engine onto a trailer, yank a dump truck out of the mud, remove tree stumps, move heavy shit, etc. I have used my winches for all of the above in addition to typical vehicle recoveries.

You can use it, along with a snatch block, to pull the retardant tank into a fire bomber when the aircraft winch fails.
Or so I’ve heard. |
|
If you live near a beach, hang out there and wait for people to get stuck.

This time of year, if I'm not careful I can end up using my winch to recover my heavy zero turn when it suddenly decides to sink itself in my yard. We've had lots of rain in Ohio. |

You can bend her over the hood and...oh wait - you said winch. Never mind....

My friend used to toss his winch lead over a tree limb and pull his deer up for processing. He doesn't take it to any processing place.

I don't know why but I though caribou were deer size. That thing is big.
I have my bumper jewelry to self recover and pull people out. I've used the one on my SxS to tension a tree to chop down so it didn't hit the house. |

They ran the cable up over the cab to another set of fairleads on the safari rack, one above the windshield and one at the back of the cab. They used it to winch an 1800 lb cape buffalo into the bed of the truck, it was impressive. What was also impressive was 6-7 trackers piled in the bed of the truck with the buffalo and 4 more men were in the cab, that little diesel Toyota truck never even grunted pulling all that weight out of a creek bottom. |

A really big bull might go for 150 -175 pounds of meat...A nice bull moose though averages about 600 pounds of processed meat, the biggest bull we have taken produced just over 900 pounds of meat..he was about as big as they get... |

You can drag vampires out of their hiding nests out into the sunlight.

Pull your truck to heavier objects, and pull lighter objects towards your truck, sometimes pull them upwards, sideways, or lower them downwards, I think that covers 99.9% of all possible uses.

I have a zip line at the cabin for the grandkids but as they got bigger we needed a better setup. I had an extra 100" of 3/8 cable and used two tree straps a snatch block and made an improvised temporary zip line using the same trolley. It was good enough the adults could go down it. |

Every man should know what to do with a wench on the front of their truck.

My dad used his Jeep winch when he was 18/19 to hold up the trusses on the Aframe he was building mostly by himself.
|
|
Always wanted to pinch cars in two at the mall by looping the line around one and pulling it in real tight.
