I got a new XD9 and a .40 mag because I heard they work.
I loaded the magazine and inserted it into the gun.
I pulled the slide back to chamber a round.
It failed to go all the way into battery. Almost but not quite.
Now it's STUCK and I can't get the live round to eject.

Is this is a bad idea ? =>

my .40 cals work flawlessly in my xd9 you need to have the feed lips bent in slightly.

Since the xd9 is a 9mm try some .380 ammo. I heard that works great.

+1, yea just bend the feed lips in.  Us a caliper to measure and then adjust the lips.

stuff some tannerite down the mag well first.

Then hit it.

ANd then have someone else post pics....because I doubt you will be able to.

But it will be unjammed.

wild thought, maybe tap the slide back instead of forward.  You have a round not sized correctly stuck in there.

Oh hell go ahead ruin your pistol

Why is it stuck?

I think I would knock it the other way.

I dunno but it won't budge, forward or backward.
I'll take it back to the gunshop. They'll unstick it.

My USP did this a few times on some shitty reloads. I had to take it apart to get the live round out. Try and remove the slide if it is at all possible..... If it is not back far enough, try pushing on the ejector to unlock it from the brass.

If you're going to do any tapping, wrap it in tape or a rag or something.  Gently close the vise.  Put on some safety goggles.  Then tap it backward to try and get the round out.  I think tapping it forward into battery may not be a good idea.

Welcome to the WECSOG

Perhaps tap it into the chamber, then fire the round off into the dirt?

..Just when tapping it from the front, try not to be in the line of fire.

For troubleshooting I'd check:

chamber
round
extractor
slide
slide rails
any moving parts

Let us know.

And, welcome to WECSOG.

Actually I think it's a bad reload. Not sized correctly or maybe need a little more crimp
I'll get a box of winchester white box and run it through.

-edit - I bought a box of remington hollowpoints and they cycled fine.
