I have seen it on the news the last couple of days. It doesn't seem to have gone up in this part of Washington. I am sure it is coming. O'Reilly asked Newt last night why it always spikes in May, Newt answer was because we don't have enough refineries - that didn't answer the question in my book.

Here in sunny South Florida
87 octane - $1.69 89 octane - $1.79 92 octane - $1.89 Expecting 92 octane to reach over $2.00 by June and by mid summer I expect we'll reach $2.50. Bummer as I was expecting to buy a big American made pick-up this summer. |

average is around $2 a gallon

The real question is: How much higher does it have to go before it affects your driving habits or purchasing decisions?
Also, mid-East crude oil has been trading around $27.50 to $28.50 per barrel. That's about $5 less per barrel than last year yet we're paying more for gasoline due to "tight" supplies. Tight, yeah okay. |

$1.79 93 octane last week. Have to fill up tonight and am afraid to look when I get to the pump.

Here in South Central Kansas:
87 Octane: $1.699 89 Octane: $1.799 Last summer, our high gas price for 87 Octane was $1.79 a gallon in mid-June. Here we are in early May and we are already nearing last summer's high. I think the same folks that really got screwed last summer by the high prices will get screwed again: the farming community. I know of many farmers around here that did not farm their ground the way they had planned due to high fuel costs. Folks that planned to plow last year put it off until this year. Wheat harvest will start in a little over a month, there is still a lot of fall crop to be planted yet, and then all the field work that will follow harvest this summer. In other words, the biggest time of year for fuel consumption for most farmers is just beginning. It's a sad day for farming when the cost of a gallon of gas/diesel cost as much or more than a bushel of wheat. |

San Jose, CA area - 1.91 9/10 for 87 octane two days ago.
Fortunately, my wife and I both own vehicles that run JUST FINE on 87 octane cheap gas, than you very much. Of course, both of my boys have to buy 92 for their cars - they can't figure out why I'm always grinning when I hear them bitching about their gas bills... Still, I don't like paying a $30 bill for a fillup! FFZ |

Local gas here in Orange County, Ca:
87 = 2.05 89 = 2.15 92 = 2.25 The cheapest I have seen it around here for 87 is 1.93 at Arco. I hope gas goes to $3 and the power goes out. I have a bike and plenty of waterand dry food. It should teach those bastards a lesson [:\] Probably not though. |

$1.53/gal for diesel in Concord NH, knock about 10 cents off in Portsmouth NH. If it goes too high, there's always the 600-gallon tank of off-road diesel fuel at work - and both my boss and I drive diesel trucks so it won't be a problem getting any! [:D]

$1.439 per gallon for 87 octane in Southern LA
. . . Lower Alabama, that is![:D] [heavy] |
|
Not as bad here as other places, but bad enough.
87 = $1.50 89 = $1.58 92 = $1.64 Anyone want to buy a nice 4X4? (Looks great, but get's about 4 MPG...) Natural gas for heating is supposed to jump another 20% - it just jumped 40% and there are rumors of another 60% increse for next year! Time to get the old wood stove working again... |
|
Are you serious about natural gas price increases? Last winter was nearly catastrophic for fixed income people (my friend's retired parents). You know what? Soon it won't really matter how much they charge for it. Few people will be able to pay it without severe cash shortfalls. And what are they going to do? Shut it off?
All the continued reports of $3.00 gasoline is pissing me off too. It seems like they're trying to de-sensitize us to prices increases. That way when they do raise prices, they think we'll be more accepting of it because we already knew it was coming. |
