Not much information yet. "#USSJohnSMcCain The guided-missile destroyer USS John S. Are we seeing the long term affect of the Obama Cancer on the US Navy?

Purge all the real leaders for politically correct fucksticks, and this is what happens.

EE if your are in China right now like your flag says maybe you could offer your services to the navy as a pilot who actually knows how to handle a ship and avoid collisions since you are in the area.

In the Air Force, mishaps always seem to happen in strings of three.
I hope that's not the case for the Navy, and that this collision is minor. |

Damn that sucks.
But the McCain? Apparently its guidance system has been off for years. |

Yeah, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. For now. Still a Burke DDG is like a Corvette compared to the merchant ships. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

Ok, I understand that perhaps this a brutal shipping channel, but when you are the Skipper of what I'm sure is at least a billion dollar warship how the fuck do you let this happen? Unfuckingbelieveable.

You know ... the ocean is pretty damn big. So big that you can go days and days without seeing another ship save way out on the horizon.
There's two different state-of-the-art surface search radars active at all times and a watch team on the bridge tracking anything remotely close. When warships enter the shipping lanes it's not unusual to plus up the bridge watch with another couple of lookouts but still it's not like rush hour traffic with hundreds of large ships passing to-n-fro. |

This kind of crap was part of Clancy's Debt of Honor plot.
I lol at the new "mandatory training requirements" that Navy O6s are going to have to do now. Probably online. Quarterly. Now it'll be one big "Sexual Harassment, Suicide, Phishing, OPSEC, Don't Run Into Boats" training certificate. |

I hope no one is injured, but it looks like a drunken weekend warrior on a local lake could do a better job. Is there no one looking where they are going?

I looked at that area on a map and yeah it's freaking nuts. View Quote Occam's razor and all that would say it is pure chance. Who knows. I hope our sailors are safe and accounted for. |
